Libertarians, let's talk SCOTUS noms!

On Inauguration Day, Antonin Scalia will be 6 weeks shy of his 77th birthday.
Justice Kennedy, arguably the most libertarian member of the Court, just 4 months younger.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a cancer survivor who will be 80 before the next President has been 2 months in office.
Stephen Breyer will be 74.
Even Clarence Thomas will be 68 before then next presidential election.

You know what kind of judges Obama has appointed. Two vibrant middle-aged super libs who won't be replaced for decades.

Are you really okay with taking the chance Obama might get the next 2...3...4... picks?

Do you really think this is healthy for the libertarian agenda?

I know you've made up your minds, but you really need to think about this, and the consequences. You could seal the fate of this nation for the next several decades and put it in the hands of an overwhelming liberal SCOTUS. Is that really what you want?

You aren't going to convince them and their votes for Johnson will have te same impact as left wingers votin for Rosanne Barr

better that the nation crash and burn to a crisp, than to bow to the tyrannical establishment.

Yeah, because when you are fighting a battle you can possibly win, it's always best to jump out of your foxhole and go madly dashing straight into enemy fire! Oh, and I really don't think Romney intends to make you bow. Obama might though!! Hell, he could have his liberal SCOTUS mandate it!

Oh I know, they are firmly committed to proving how stupid they are!

I disagree. I respect their position and do not think it is helpful to denigrate them. They aren't after all liberals and I would think you would have more in common with them than not. I am not voting for Romney but I have the luxury of my protest vote.

Hey, I have a LOT in common with Libertarian viewpoints, but it's not an insult to say they are stupid when they do something stupid.

Do you really want Obama to get the next few picks on the Court? REALLY?

Remember when Ditzy supported the appointment of Bush's secretary to the Supreme Court? lol
He spent those few days trying to convince us it was anything but a horrible choice. Even Fox bailed on that one but Ditzy stuck by his man.

I think someone is trying to scurry away from the issues raised in the thread concerning Alabama's Consitution.

Romney does not care about the Constitution. He's a right wing technocrat. I seriously doubt he is going to appoint any libertarians.

I am very hopeful that Scalia will be replaced soon. He is a horrible judge and person.

Nope. But at this point the election is over. Their vote won't change it one way or another. OWEdummy was hoping Sandy might make him look like some sort if hero but she is turning out to be a dud.

if you lived in a swing state would you likely vote romney?

the democrats and the republicans have the same goals in mind. The republicans are just smarter about it by going slower. the fact that you're stupid enough to believe they are for freedom and the constitution is totally negated by your approval of the same policies that bush implemented, obama strengthened, and romnei will continue.

I have already said that I would. Although I don't think Romney will be much better than Bush, I don't think he is the existential threat that Obama is. Does that make me a hypocrite? Maybe. Like I said, my red state status gives me the luxury of my Calvin Coolidge vote. If I lived in Ohio (god forbid) I would most likely vote for Romney.

the stupid move would be to KNOW that Romney is hardly any different than Obama, none of which represent our constitutional interests, yet vote for the lesser of two evils out of fear, betraying ourselves.

Yeah, just like you are a proud member of that movement in Alabama.

LOL, in addition to imagining that either eventual winner would nominate (and Congress would confirm) a "libertarian" jurist, he also harbors kinky fantasies about Katy Perry, who kissed a girl and liked it.

Scalia is a known liar when it comes to his 'position' about his views on the constitution. If he really was an 'originalist', he would not have voted in favor of the gov in gonzalez v. raich.

I'm sure he'll resign after reading your post.
