One of Mitt Romney's biggest supporters, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, had nothing but praise forPresident Barack Obama today, as his state prepares to rebuild from the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy."I have to say, the administration, the president, himself and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate have been outstanding with us so far," Christie said on Good Morning America. "We have a great partnership with them."
Christie told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that Obama called him on Monday night around midnight to ask if there was anything else the federal government could do to help. Christie added that they worked together to move forward with a Major Disaster Declaration for New Jersey.
The Major Disaster Declaration provides funding for recovery efforts, including infrastructure projects, temporary housing, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property loss and assistance to individuals and businesses.
"He worked on that last night with me…offered any other assets that we needed to help," Christie said. "I want to thank the president personally for his personal attention to this."
Appearing on Fox News, Christie said the storm is bigger than the election.
"I have a job in New Jersey that is much bigger than presidential politics," Gov. Chris Christie said on the show Fox & Friends. "I couldn't care less about that."

Keep reminding the racist righties that not all conservatives hate everything Obama does or says, Don.

Of course, there's always the chance that some of the racist haters will turn on Christie...

I am not sure what this has to do with anything. Can either of you Obamaphiles explain the point you are trying to get across?

Is Christie now going to campaign for OWEdummyfucker? I am sure it will cause New Jersey voters to vote for OWEdummyfucker.

It is funny how you now think everyone is a racist because they don't support your BOY

Good for Christie. I think all fair people know that this isn't the time for partisan politics, it's a time for action to help those who've been affected. I can tell you from personal experience, if you've never been an emergency volunteer to a disaster area, you should consider giving up a weeks vacation time and volunteer to help. You'll be glad that you did though you might be in for one heck of a rugged adventure.

I volunteered for disaster relief during the 1993 500 year flood in the Mississippi river region. I traveled to Rock Island Illinois where, in a futile gesture, I helped fill sand bags for 16 hours a day for 5 days straight. The last day I was there the river surged and sweeped away all our sand bags and most of the homes we were trying to save. I watched people work till they passed out from exhuastion and I saw a community of people come together to help each other out. It's an expereince I'll never forget. I'm glad I did it.

Why should people volunteer? Isn't that like a free market thing? Isn't this why we pay taxes for first responders and teachers and cops and firefighters? Let the gobblement handle it. No need for volunteers. What is the matter with you?

Our own JPP poster extraordinaire I Love the Confederate States of America volunteered to help, with his guns, chain saw and F250.

The victims have to PM him, though.

I can't answer that for you. It's part of the religious values I was brought up with to help my neighbors in times of need. You may have a social Darwinist point of view and could give a fuck less about people who need help but I care. In times like a large scale natural disaster our public emergency responders can be overwhelmed. I consider helping out a Christian thing to do.

I read yesterday that Mister Class himself, Mitt the shit, phoned the states involved that have Republican governors. So good to know how he'll act as President.

He wanted photo ops. Wouldn't likely get them from Democratic governors (and Christie, to his credit, told Romney to screw) so he only called the Republican ones. It's all about Mitt.

Could you imagine calling the governor of New Jersey in the middle of a huge crisis to see if you could pop in for a photo op? Asshole.

I didn't know it was for photo ops or that Christie told him to get lost. No I can't imagine it, he is disgusting.

I think you miss the point. Isn't our tax dollars supposed to cover these things? There should be no need for volunteerism. Let the gubmint handle it.

And please don't bring religion into politics. Haven't you heard of separation of church and state?

It takes a cold fish to think of political advantage when this is happening.
