governor christe praises obama and fema

I can't answer that for you. It's part of the religious values I was brought up with to help my neighbors in times of need. You may have a social Darwinist point of view and could give a fuck less about people who need help but I care. In times like a large scale natural disaster our public emergency responders can be overwhelmed. I consider helping out a Christian thing to do.

Alias is a miserable fuck, pay him no mind.

When someone dared to ask Chris Christie how Superstorm Sandy would influence next week's U.S. elections, the New Jersey governor displayed the confrontation-loving, hard-charging style that has made him a rising national figure.

"I don't give a damn about Election Day," Christie told a news conference on Tuesday in Ewing, New Jersey, 64 miles southwest of New York City.

"Let the politicians who are on the ballot worry about Election Day. It's not my problem."

The Republican, who has been governor since January 2010, told reporters on Tuesday he was focused on destroyed homes and potential loss of life...

Why should people volunteer? Isn't that like a free market thing? Isn't this why we pay taxes for first responders and teachers and cops and firefighters? Let the gobblement handle it. No need for volunteers. What is the matter with you?

Remind me, don't you call yourself a Christian?

It would also be nice if he could come up with something a bit less childish and more inventive when name-calling the president...

Christie is angling for 2016. Not exactly knee-capping Romney here, but not doing him any favors either.

i saw the tape of him on Fox news yesterday, and he had those three bimbos (douchey and the other two whatever their names) sitting there with their mouths open, it was so funny. He was pretty nasty about it. Stating outright he had zero interest in whether Romney was coming to tour Jersey or not. I was surprised he was that nasty about it. It came off as a big diss of Mitt whether he meant it to or not.

Maybe it is a knee-capping, then. The praise for Obama has been effusive and telling Romney to screw is just precious. Christie is pretty shrewd. He helps Obama look good in a crisis and doesn't give Mitt the opportunity to "look Presidential" (while forcing him to hold an absurd "relief event" in Ohio).

Yeah it is shrewd if that's what he is doing. Betting on a Romney loss (and maybe helping one come too) and setting himself up as someone who can work with both parties for 016.

I loved that event - just what all the people with no power need - cans of peas! No really, I have been getting calls about that. Darla you have power you lucky bitch, can you spare some canned peas! And I am like, no way Jose I am holding on to all my canned goods. Tough luck!

This is an interesting analysis, but if Christie is being so blatantly political as to throw Romney under the bus as you say, how in the world do you think he would make it out of a GOP primary? You think GOP primary voters would forget about it in 2016?

I personally don't think the political dimensons to Sandy wil amount to much other than that if Romney loses the wingnuts will have a build in excuse by whining "Romeny would have won if Obama hadn't of gotten an unfair advantage with Sandy!"

It's a load of hooey but you'll probably hear it. That and probably starting sometime in the next day or two you'll start hearing micromanagement from wingnuts about how some granny's kittie drowned and it's all Obama's fault and how it makes him a horribly negligent leader in an emergency.

Canned goods are the last thing the Red Cross wants at this point, maybe later, but right now they want money. An easy way to donate, text 90999, enter the message REDCROSS, $10, added to your phoe bill. Very simple. Do it a couple of times. Simple

First of all, Red Cross may not want canned goods, but plenty of other organizations do. Second, on the screen Romney had a graphic showing how to donate to Red Cross. Now who is being blatantly political and cynical?

And I don't see why you would want people to donate to the Red Cross isn't this what the gobblement and tax dollars are for? Are you saying the gobblement can't get it done without the private sector?
