Now, while the north east coast is on the verge of rioting, Obama is still on the campaign trail, butt he is now weariing his show off flight jacket with all the emblems, kind of like that pompous fool Idi Amin Dodo, the African Dicktater. Obama wants US to know that HE is the Commander-in-chef and he will tell US what to do, what a jackass. Now, he is promoting spending more money on a new Cabinet position, called The Secretary of Business..LOL..what a dummy, even you Feminazis and your Fem-Boys have to be against this moron.

We have a Secretary of Commerce, but I guess that is too confusing of a term for some presidents...

We have a Secretary of Commerce which oversees the Commerce Department which has a few core trade functions. Then we have the Small Business Association, which is an independent agency and operates independently with its own organization. Then there's the office of the US Trade Representative, which falls under the Executive Office of the President. Then there's the export-import bank, which is another independent agency. Then you've got the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, which is an independent corporation run by a board and executives appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. And let us not forget the US Trade and Development Agency, another independent agency.

So, yeah, good point. Why would it make any sense to combine these various agencies and their functions under one roof with a single Cabinet-rank Secretary overseeing it?

Half of the budget of the Department of Commerce goes to the NOAA. You can't tell me there are good reasons for keeping it there rather than sending it over to the Department of the Interior. What you're left with isn't much of a Cabinet Department.

Reorganization makes sense. That's why Republicans supported it when it was first proposed.

Fair point, put NOAA under Interior (or Energy, Agriculture), and place all of those random businessy agencies under Commerce. Just like whenever the Coast Guard was placed under DOD...
