There Is No Future for the Republican Party

We removed all traces of your stupid government, when we kicked your asses out during our war of independence.
And then it seems that we started a groundswell and other countries kicked your ass out also.

Once again, you are the once great Great Britian.
You are of no consequence; Deal with it.

Wrong, you just think so.
As long as we have a central bank, Europe controls us.

I don't know how you can count out a major party in the US. The Democratic Party survived losing the Civil War, while the Republican Party survived being blamed for the Great Depression. The Democratic Party survived the presidency of LBJ, while the Republican Party survived the presidency of Richard Nixon. It's almost impossible to destroy a major political party here. Even when the Federalist Party disappeared, its adherents just moved into a wing of the Democratic-Republican Party that became known as the National Republican Party for an election cycle, before rebranding itself the Whig Party, which eventually disbanded and merged into the Republican Party.

Bit of a difference between irrelevance and extinction there Capt.

There he goes again bragging about kicking donkeys. D'you think he has a predelection for our four legged friends? Strange people the mentally challenged of Arizona... and dangerous if allowed to stray into the public arena.

I think that a lot depends on the Affordable Care Act and whether it ends up actually being affordable.

I would very much doubt that any one policy will make a difference. It is about people and the views they hold of their nation and the world in general. Young people are setting new standards vis a vis selfishness and altruism. It is their world and providing we give them access to education and dont allow the bible punchers anywhere near them, we can hand over with confidence. (Oh, and women too... bless their hearts....:) tic)

It will still be called the Republican party but it will not still be the same... they will evolve into something more progressive.

Well I am sorry but the thread is a big pile of horse crap, the Money that thew Democrats spent in Ohio certainly did it's job it took a serious respectful candidate like Romney smeared his good name, mind you I disagree with his particular faith, and think he was a bit to center for my liking but he is a decent man. As long as Democrats hold their majority in the huge welfare cities that are mostly minorities it will be tough to beat them. The Republicans need to find a way to cut through the crap Democrats feed to minority groups. If minority groups would just look at the past 30 years, how they have not budged from the bottom of the economic pile, they would vote different, but free stuff is free stuff

David Frum gets it...why can't the rest of you?

<snip>The Republican Party is becoming increasingly isolated and estranged from modern America. In the quarter century since 1988, there have been six presidential elections. Only once—once!—did the Republican candidate win a majority of the popular vote, and then by the miserable margin of 50.73 percent.

We Republicans may console ourselves that we did win two big victories in the recent past, 1994 and 2010. But those were off-year elections, when 60 percent of America stays home, and those who do turn out are the wealthier, the older, and the whiter. Exit polls indicate that 34 percent of the 2010 electorate was over age 60; in 2012, only 15 percent of voters were older than 65. The Republican success in those elections only underscores the bigger problem: the GOP is rapidly becoming the party of yesterday’s America.<snip>

The adds actually had huge impact. Note the GOP still controlls the house against all logic.

Nope. Just because everyone does not agree with you does not mean they are being controlled. You are making the same sort of silly mistakes Grind and those who demand that voting rights be denied to certain people make.
