Oh dear, your knowledge is woefully out of date. One of the few good things that Blair did was to get rid of restrictive licensing laws imposed during the First World War to stop munitions workers getting pissed and blowing everybody up. Maggie T changed them before but New Labour brought in 24 hour drinking. Basically it's up to the licensee how long they stay open subject to demand and lack of trouble etc.

My closest interaction with the English was living 10 years in Vancouver. I found them far too serious and stuffy. Life is to be relaxing and enjoyable. And then there's the political system. Quebec is, by far, the most advanced socially. For example, automatic health care coverage whereas other provinces require monthly payments. Also, while the Federal Government was trying to increase the penalties for youth the Quebec government nixed that idea. Young people in trouble require rehabilitation, not incarceration.

So, while being in the minority I find Quebec the best place in Canada to live. It's a culture where life is to be enjoyed, somewhat relaxed, people are to be helped......just an all-round better way of life.

It's funny. She's hot. I am wondering however, when we decided that if a man, or a woman had an affair, but was otherwise really good at the job they did, that the affair negated how well the job was done. This is why those Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey's in France laugh at us. We make people who are good at their job quit because they like to fuck.

If that were the case then the morality police wouldn't call for firings, resignations and Whitewater investigations. Fucking has become a quasi-crime in this country. Fer fuck sakes it's something we are programmed to do, so much so Priests can't stay celibate.

I get that part... but for the CIA director is it not also one of those psychological profiles they do to determine whether or not they can be trusted in such a position? That if one would cheat on a spouse, would they not also be untrustworthy in other matters?

I understand what you are saying and think far too many get worked up over someone having sex. It just goes to show married people are stooopit. You are agreeing to something that is in direct contradiction to our nature. While I do admire those who remain faithful, y'all be crazy. Hopefully people realize I am saying this tongue in cheek to a large degree...there is some truth to it.
