You made a comment about Clinton, and Glass Steagall. After chasing around in circles for a day or two, I forgot about that.

My question referred to those who wrote the Act. 3 republicans. They didn't have to votes to pass it, so they were forced to compromise. Clinton was willing to relax G/S, but he demanded expanded CRA lending to the banks that would have new avenues to explore in the finance market.

So, while Clinton was the one who signed the GLB Act, it wasn't something he was fond of. That was a different era. One of compromise.

Actually, it was changes that helped drive them under. In the mid 2000's, they decided to experiment with more chemicals in Wonder Bread. They wanted it to sit on store shelves longer. It failed miserably.

I'll grant you that as a nation, we've turned away from chemical infested fake food. That had to affect the business model a bit, but you'd think that mgmt would roll with the punches, and at least find a legal way to have packaging that leads one to believe that Hostess is 'natural'.
