UN stance on MJ ballots in CO and WA

The UN is not perfect but it has its place, interfearing with popularly elected domestic policy of sovren nations is not its place.

It's not interfering. Drug policy has international implications, and it well within its rights to merely advise other nations in this area.

President Obama has harassed medical marijuana clinics and will not support legaliation, even though he was a heavy marijuana smoker in his younger days. I hope all you lefty hypocrites are happy now.

Just like Bush and not much different from Limbaugh. All you right wing hypocrites were too busy fantasizing about Bush in blue jeans to take note, I guess.

Romney promised supporters he would fight it tooth and nail.

I don't know why sty inisists on taking the knee jerk position here. You don't have to be an Obama supporter, un lover and definitely not a one worlder (who actually supports that????) to be opposed to the drug war.

They are going to invade if we don't do exactly what they say!!! Don't you remember what they did to Iraq. You know you are taking orders from them, commie.

We had no problem with marijuana clinics around here until Obama became President.

The head of the U.N. drug watchdog agency is urging U.S. federal officials to challenge ballot measures in Colorado and Washington that decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana for adults 21 and over.

Raymond Yans says the approvals send "a wrong message to the rest of the nation and it sends a wrong message abroad."

Yans heads the International Narcotics Control Board. He told The Associated Press on Tuesday he hopes Attorney General Eric Holder "will take all the necessary measures" to ensure that marijuana possession and use remains illegal throughout the U.S.
screw the UN, it's a worthless organization, anti-US, and does stupid shit like putting Sudan regime into the United Nations Human Rights Council.

They have had scandals as sex trafficing in Bosnia and the Congo. I'm all for a formal organization where nations can work out disputes, but the UN doesn't even qualify for that.

We might be seeing a real turn here -despite Obama and Holder's crackdowns. "bottom up federalism" -we're not gonna take it anymore, though this is not going to be easy, as long as weed is a Schedule 1.

It's progress, other nations have decriminalized, or legalized - somehow the world survives.
We incarcerate ata a rate greater then even China ( if memory is correct) -get rid of the prision complex, privitization which means slave labor.

It's all good, the institutions just have to let go, and listen to the people will - not easy, but we're on the right path.

How much you wanna bet you don't know what you're talking about. I live in Washington and I'm a patient. You're either ignorant of the facts or have your nose so far up Obama's ass that you have no idea what is going on in this country.
More than your net worth fucking neocon

yet you idiots claim to know what Libertarians want, right?

Do we?

Cite.

Other than a couple of videos on youtube comparing Libertarians against TEA party groups, there was nothing. So I publicly apologize to you for a false claim.

actually STY...he did in fact make the statement you claimed:

As soon as you tell me why you think CU is a bad decision, I will be all ears. Until then, you are a libertarian in your mind only.
No true libertarian can possibly support CU.

To thine own self be true.

Saying Obama didn't live up to advocates hopes is a million miles from saying republicans are better on pot.
Fucking working class moron

Read the article. The article states Bush was not harassing MMJ clinics like Obama is. You're stupid. You're also indoctrinated and can't handle the truth about Obama. I live in Washington and I'm a MMJ patient. Read this from the link I gave you.

The disappointment among advocates is compounded by the fact that the crackdown comes under the watch of President Obama, who during his 2008 campaign said he wouldn’t use federal resources to circumvent state medical marijuana laws. In 2009, a Justice Department memo echoed Obama’s statement, stating that federal resources shouldn’t be focused on users and dispensaries in compliance with state law. But that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Today, hundreds of dispensaries in states where medical marijuana is legal have closed up shop under federal threat of criminal prosecution and property forfeiture.

“What we’ve seen from Obama, despite repeated statements to the contrary, are attacks that have escalated far beyond what [President] Bush ever did, both in breadth and intensity,” said Kris Hermes, spokesperson for Americans for Safe Access. “Does it make political sense to be doing what he’s doing? Not really. Especially when the vast majority of the American public supports medical marijuana…what is clear is that it’s indiscriminate and it’s harming hundreds of thousands of patients.”

Some results of the recent crackdown, according to Hermes: Raids and the threat of raids have contributed to shutting down the majority of medical marijuana dispensaries in Montana and Washington; at least 400 California dispensaries have shut their doors (though more than 1,000 dispensaries are still operating); and in Colorado, dozens of dispensaries have been shuttered. Seventeen states and Washington, D.C., have enacted medical marijuana laws.
