Workers fired for not getting flu shots ?

How does that sit with you ?......My guess is , Pinheads are gonna defend the practice.....

Or maybe Cons are gonna defend it to lower corp. health costs....

Nurses, and others in the medical field are typically required to stay current with their immunizations. It makes sense to me. Do you have a link to some sort of problem?

I defend it on the basis of the US Constitution and the unalienable right to freely associate with anyone they choose. It doesn't matter whether I agree with the reason or not.

To me that means an employer can make hiring/firing decisions for any reason they want.

Of course in reality employees are coerced by the state to associate with people against their will.

my daughter was required to get a TB test to do an internship doing speech therapy with kids......I recall, years ago, having to do the same to be a bus driver.....is having a flue shot any worse than that?.......

I belive private businesses, in most cases, should be free to fire at will, for good cause or no cause, just not for a discriminatory cause.

Interesting ......looks like both right and left think its ok to fire someone for not getting a flu shot....
and some of you even go a lot further.....firing for even no reason at all.....thats not gonna look good on your resume though.....

I seem to be the only one on the other side of the issue.....

If an employer saw fit to hire you to do a job, and you do your part in doing that job, that employer does not have a right to fire you for no good reason or without cause.....
being fired from a job could practically destroy your opportunities for most of your working life....
and forcing medical care or procedures on an otherwise healthy worker seems a loss of freedom and invasion of privacy.......

I'm damn sure if some employee told a women she must use contraception or get an abortion to continue to work for them, the pinheads would be in an uproar.

So bravo thinks it's wrong for private businesses to be able to fire at will.

Guess what skippy?

It's just one of the "benefits" of living in a "Right to Work" state.

"Right to Work" states are, OF COURSE, brought to you by selfish, money grubbing Righties.

I happen to have been a union worker for 37 years and know far more than you about the subject.....protecting a workers rights is far different than the extortion
we see practiced by unions today from the rabid socialists that run them.....the pendulum will return to the center sometime...

And no one, not ever, should be FORCED to join a union in order to make a living or hold a job .......

Its odd that you lefty union supporting asswipes think an employer should be able to fire a worker without cause, isn't it ?

Sucks for you when Rush doesn't tell you what to think huh Bravo?

Why not discriminate? Everyone does it

It depends on how you use discriminate, sure you should be allowed to discriminate against those who steal from you.

You should not be able to discriminate based on race, sex, sexual orientation, and religen. I should have been more specific.

Is your reading comprehension that bad that you failed to understand my position on the issue.....I made it plain enough so even an asswipe idiot like you would be able to
get the point......guess I've failed in that.....I just don't know how to penetrate the mind of a buffoon like you....
exactly what part of the post do you not understand....

I would probably sue even though I hate lawyers in general. I don't take flu shots anymore because I become sick after taking them.
