Obama one of the Greats!

Well, you probably didn't notice, but the sanctions & other measures taken by the Clinton admin worked. There were no WMD's after America invaded in 2003.

That isn't what Clinton said. You're a liar. You just make this crap up as you go along. President Clinton said in 1998 that Saddam was working on WMDs.

Sure there is, just next to Lincon. Hell, Congress even passed a bill once to put Susan B. Anthony up there, but didn't pass any funding for it.

Suzy also started the Temperance Movement. I have a small bronze plaque of her on my bar. Occasionally, we have a drink together. :)

LOL - where did I say that's what Clinton said? Where did I lie?

What Clinton said in '98 was probably the truth. But a lot can happen in 5 years, and it's clear that the sanctions worked. Saddam didn't have WMD's, and Bush had no reason to DECIDE to invade.

Doesn't change the fact that none of those guys called for invasion, and that sanctions did work - there were no WMD's.

If Bush hadn't recklessly rushed us into war, inspectors could have determined that without the massive loss of life & near 10-year commitment from our military.

A lot can happen in 5 years ?.....the Dem. quotes were made in '01 and '02...Gore's being 1 month before the resolution vote.....hardly 5 years

Sanctions worked but poor Al Gore didn't know it
Sanctions worked but poor Sen. Levin didn't know it
Sanctions worked but poor Sen. Graham, and "others" didn't know it
Sanctions worked, yet Senators Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Joe Biden, Bayh, and Daschle voted for war ?
.....along with about 22 other Democrats......

They just didn't know the sanctions worked ?....is that you want us to believe ? Or maybe they voted for war in spite of the success of the sanctions ?....

In any event, the decisions were made on WHAT they BELIEVED were the facts at the time about WMD....and they all believed it....

It blows my mind that a pinhead like you exists....lying and lying to yourself when the truth is in front of your face.....
Utterly brainwashed with left-wing lies and excuses by hypocrites that claim they were fooled into voting 'yea'....

28 Democrats voted 'yea' on the Resolution and you claim sanctions worked and they didn't know it ?...Is that really what you've convinced yourself happened ?

If so, you've graduated from just uninformed pinhead to full blown buffoon.....

You've been shown the quotes, the names, the dates and still deny, deny, deny.....

For the hundredth time....they called for WAR with Iraq.....they don't vote on methods and tactics.....they don't tell the military HOW to win wars....
they just hope they prevail and achieve the goals set.....
They don't stipulate that only ping pong balls are to used or paints guns or tasers....that is not their job.

The primary combat with Saddams Revolutionary Guards, etc. was over in about 21 days....victory...goals accomplished........with a minimum of dead on either side to this point..........

If you'd like to bitch and moan about the occupation, I'll join you....it was ill advised and a failure...and allowed terrorists to run wild
all over the country causing thousands of deaths over 9 years.........its also a different topic.

Congress didn't "call for war" with Iraq.

Honestly - that's insane.

Ok.....Bush proposed military action in Iraq......Congress voted, congress approved....

Democrat Senators

Hillary Clinton,
John Kerry,
John Edwards,
Joe Biden,
Bayh,
Daschle

along with about 22 other Democrats...approved

No approval, no war.

NOTE....Majority party was Democratic in Senate

Why do you keep bringing up Democrats? Democrats didn't "vote to invade." They didn't "call for invasion." They didn't "decide to invade."

All Bush. ALL Bush.

the 101 st. time....

Congress consented and approved a WAR with Iraq.....they don't vote on methods and tactics.....they don't tell the military HOW to fight wars....

no consent, no approval = no war

Congress decided on war with Iraq, they did not stipulate on how the war was to waged (though they could have, they didn't)

That's a complete mischaracterization. They didn't "decide on war with Iraq." They gave Bush that authority, and HE made the choice.

I still don't get it; why are you trying to cover for Bush? Why do you refuse to give him accountability for Iraq? It's bizarre, and you look absolutely ridiculous doing so. I have never heard any Republican make the argument that you do. Bush would definitely take issue with it; he sees himself as the "decider," and would never say that Congress made the decision.

It's crazy. Really bats.

Because the use of military force was decided BEFORE the gad damn vote you stupid twit....don't you understand the consept of first and second events...

War was decided by Bush and he asked for consent....no consent = no war.....try to grasp the simple freakin fact....

They knew exactly what they were voting for before the vote and they voted FOR THE WAR WITH IRAQ....THEY MADE THE FINAL CHOICE, BUSH MADE THE FIRST CHOICE....

He said he would do it...and Congress said "Go to it", "We authorize you to do it", : "We give you our consent", "We give our approval"

That's a complete mischaracterization of history. You really don't know what happened.

Bush didn't say "I'm going to invade, we need this resolution so I can invade." His PUBLIC posture on it - and private, w/ guys like Armey - was that he needed the resolution to strengthen his hand with Saddam, to show unity so Saddam would allow inspections and know that America was serious if he didn't comply. There was never an open statement of "I need to go to war, so you need to vote on this so I can."

That's preposterous. Now, you can argue that many knew Bush would abuse the power, and not allow diplomacy to work - but that wasn't out in the open. You're a partisan fool & apologist who has no idea whatsoever what the history of it was.
