A Bigger Libertarian Tent

If it was that obvious at the time, we wouldn't have gone over there. It's not like we were itching to march around Europe for the hell of it.

It was more to keep the Soviets from reaching the Atlantic. Plus Churchill wanted us to help fight the Soviets after rearming Germany.

If libertarians gave up their right-wing economic views, I honestly think they would eventually just be absorbed by the left, or disintegrate. Their dedication to right-wing economics is a big issue that drives a lot of people to them.

and if the sky was green it wouldn't be blue.

If you read the two posts that follows this I'm responding to. You will see, very little moderation. At the same time obvious that the most active admins work double time to make those that disagree with them appear to be fools. Nothing is done administratively to correct that bias. Just keep posting the hypocrisy.

to the extent that this happens, I assure you, we don't work very hard at it.

Aren't all three of the mods conservatives? Who are the most active mods? Which liberals do you feel they are making fools out of? I am just curious because I hope one of them isn't me! I miss a lot that gets posted here so I guess it's possible.

And voting based on anything other than merit does not nudge it in a good direction. It goes more towards the style, not the substance.

actually, it doesn't even go to style (unless its only because they're the first clean, articulate, well dressed and golden example of a particular group, of course).......it's qualification based on mere status......

NonLibertarian position: The right to life can be agreed by non-magical thinkers to correspond to sentience of the foetus, i.e. probably around week 23, or roughly in keeping with the current federal standard of 22 weeks. If states want to enact laws starting at 22 weeks, let them. If Christians want to make up stories about the soul, fuck them.

S/he only needs to 'preside' over our non-superficial self-government.

You act as if a president doesn't stand for anything, doesn't represent anyone, that there is no ideology involved at at.

By the way, you totaly lost me when you said you would vote for Palin. (but not for Hilary) Palin is quite possibly the stupidest person to ever hold public office in the US. You don't think that matters? Hilary of course is one of the smartest politicians ever, but you would rather have Palin?

Single payer health care is coming. No one will stop it.
