It was obvious during last night's New York Jets game that Politically Liberal Mark Sanchez was a bust, no pun intended, he stunk the field up. The Hollywood Liberal Eva Longoria's ex boyfriend Sanchez gave the game away with a fumble and 4 interceptions, yet Rex Ryan the Head Coach would not put in T-Party favorite Tim Tebow to quarterback the team, and the Jets Fans wanted Tebow in. So It looks like to me that the Head Coach, and other management people, possibly including the Jets owner are Lib Demos and I hate to say this, but they did not want to showcase a religious clean-cut Conservative T-Party favorite like Tim Tebow. I see the same thing in other sports, where there seems to be a bias against certain players who happen to have acknowledged their Conservatism, as compared to Liberal Athletes, IE future Hall of Famer "Brett Farve" who sat on the bench for 5 years or so. Some Liberals are truly sick mentally, and there may be no cure because they have been brainwashed to think Liberally during their years in school, by their Liberal Teachers. I am Right On here, and I gots lots mo fo ya.

Come on all you New Yorkers out there, I know that you saw the football game and I also know that you saw Mark Sanchez absolutley screw up the Jet's chances for a playoff birth, it was sick. Why don't you show some huevos, or culo and admit that Tim Tebow should have been put into the game as quarterback, admit it!!! Sanchez was going out with Hollywood's Eva Longoria, so it is obviously to me that he "Partied" a lot, if you know what I mean. With Tim Tebow, you do not have to worry about his getting messed up with "stuff", he is exactly what all US Parents would want in a Son, butt of course you Lib Demos will never admit that, will ya?

What did I tell you, just about every New York Jets fan, even Libs, wants Tim Tebow to start, butt what does that Liberal Coach Ryan do, he jumps the third string quarterback McElroy over the Conservative Tebow to start the next game as the Jets quarterback. Now Tebow is asking to be released and I say good riddance to you New York Liberals, you deserve what you get for bringing politics into the game, what a bunch of hippocrats. Can any of you New York Lib Demos splain to me how I'm wrong, that is if you think I'm wrong, butt I don't believe that you think that I'm wrong here. If you do not answer me, then I will assume that I am RIGHT again?

I don't know but the vast majority of the Jets fans wanted Tebow in the game, because he is exciting to watch a leader. If Tebow plays, I will watch because the guy jumped a 39 inch vertical which is 3 inches under Michael Jordan's vertical leap, and he is quick, and his arm release is improving. After football, Tebow will get into politucs, I believe.

Here are some quotes by disgruntaled Jets fans.................................

Half the head coaches in the NFL have no business being head coaches in the first place, and Rex Ryan is one of them. At the same time, most of the dislike for Tim Tebow is nothing but anti-religious anger from incompetent fans. Some people just don't know what they're talking about when it comes to his talent, but others simply hate his faith in God. They refuse to give him any credit for the incredible winning streak he had last year, chalking it up to a simple "fluke", when it certainly wasn't.

What a bunch of rubbish from Manish Mehta. How does TEBOW make Sanchez operate the RUNBUTT offense or the PICKOFF Pass Parade? Why does the NY Sports writing establishment blame Tebow for Sanchez being a mediocre player? Answer: Because Tebiow is a Southern Baptist....and NYC cannot Tolerate a S. Baptist in it's precincts....Li*beral Bias Intolerant Monkey Dung of a sports writer here and the whole city needs a shrink.

....................................................................................................

They won't start Tebow because they are afraid he might actually win the final two games. That sounds ridiculous but think about it for a second. Tebow is unorthodox but he is a big-time winner. He's won at every level and led a sorry Broncos team into the playoffs and won a playoff game agains the #1 defense (for those who'll say it was the Broncos defense, they were 1-4 when he took over, had the 2nd worst record the year before, and got gave up 40 points or more on four occasions). Tebow would likely come in and beat San Diego and Buffalo but it might not look pretty. Then, two things would happen -- Rex and company would like like idiots for not going to Tebow earlier and they'd might be stuck with a QB that they don't think can take them FAR into the playoffs and to the Super Bowl. So they let this honest and decent kid just rot on the bench as he has for most of this wasted year. They lied to him. Shame on them. I would hope that some coach would take up the challenge of building an offense around Tebow. You CAN win with him and with the right pieces and an excellent defense -- and Tebow's leadership -- you can win a Super Bowl. But even if that would never materialize, in the next 10 years the great majority of teams will not be winning the Super Bowl and many won't even make the playoffs. So what do you say Buffalo, Kansas City, Arizona and especially Jacksonville? Do you have the guts? Do you value winning over pundit idolatry?

McElroy won the game he started a couple of weeks ago. I don't think Greg's politics are the issue. He is just a solid game manager and a decent passer who doesn't get picked off like Sanchez.

Did you watch the game, or are you just talking out of your ass?

First, Woody Johnson was a big Romney contributor. His exact words "Romney winning is more important than the Jets winning games"

Second, if you watched the game...which you didn't...you'd have seen that when they had Tebow in for 3 plays in a row, he ended up on his ass. This, because he doesn't have the ability to audible, so the Titans blitzed with no worries about getting caught.

So tell us, why would an extreme right wing owner keep the Jesus Freak on the bench?

Maybe because he sucks?

See folks how this Lib Demo used the term "Jesus Freak" in refernce to a polite person Tim Tebow, doesn't this explain everything you need to know about New York and it's Liberal bias politics, even in sports? On Long Island which I had visited in late 1999 and early 2000, there are Moore Conservatives, butt Manhatten is crawling with Lib Demos, they are everywhere you go. The best Mayor that New York City has ever had was Conservative Rudy Guiliani, everyone I talked to during my visits told me so, so I am Right abort Liberal Hippocrats.

Don't backpedal now. Did you watch the game? Why weren't you aware that Johnson headed the NY Romney campaign?

Because you're a moron? Tebow sucks. Get over it.

Almost the silliest thread I ever read. Well, maybe not the silliest but it ranks right up there. Tebow's a good kid and likely conservative for a lot of the same reasons that I am, but he's a bad quarterback. I am one of his biggest fans (now that he's in the pros...rooted against him in college) and tremendously enjoyed the success he had helping the Broncos reach the playoffs last year, but you got to call 'em like ya see 'em. Politics plays no role in his riding the bench.

Yeah Teabow. I had to laugh at the title of this thread. "Now" politics in sports.
Religion and politics are now pretty much inseperable in the USA.

Johnson wanted Tebow, Rex Ryan didn't. Johnson went out and got Tebow, Ryan refuses to play him. Perfect example of why the Jets are so dysfunctional and a train wreck of an organization.

Give me a break. Tim Tebow was an exceptional athlete in college because of his size and his ability to run people over. As a passer he's mediocre by NFL standards. He has issues with accuracy, particularly on middle and short deliveries though his long ball good and he can hit on stride when he has clear vision and when he has time to set his feet. That doesn't happen often in the NFL and his inability to adjust indicate problems with his timing and foot mechanics. He has trouble seeing the windows in coverage before they open nor does he seem to be able to throw his recievers open and his throwing to the sidelines is attrocious. He's only hitting about 30% and those are important passes to nail to gain first downs and keep momentum. Tebow also takes to long to make his reads and that is compounded that he moves poorly in the pocket. His first step back from the line of scrimmage is short and hell that's high school shit. He does poorly at moving up in the pocket or side to side in the pocket and is easily derailled by pressure or a hand in his face. As a runner he has decent atleticism but his running style is that of a bruising fullback and lets face it, Tim may be a tough and a hard nosed runner but at the NFL level he's not running away from anyone and he's not going to run over them. Tebow also has problem making reads across the entire field. In that respect he's not Tom Brady but it's understandable considering Florida's single read system. He has made significant improvements but has a long ways to go. Quite often a man will be open on the opposite side of the field and Tebow fails to see them. Then there's his throwing mechanics. Tebow looks like he's throwing a bowlling ball overhanded instead of a football. Have you seen all the wobblers he throws? Tebow does well passing as a pure north/south passer but he sucks at going from side line to side line. As I pointed out earlier, his completion percentage doing that is about 30%. That's a pretty good indicator of mechanical problems.

If Tebow wants to be a top tier starting QB he has a lot of timing and mechanics issues he needs to work on and since that's like teaching someone how to speak a new language.....that's a tall order. He has a excelleng understanding of x's and o's and knows his progressions well and his athleticism and strength are strong points but a QB is hired to throw the ball and Tim has a lot of work to do there. He either needs to be in a situation where someone can train him to learn superior throwing mechanics (if he can) or an offense that will gear the offense towards his special athletic skills (unlikely to happen).

So if anyone if politicizing the situation with Tebow.....it's motor mouths like you.

Pretty accurate summation. How often do we see this? College QBs that run well, don't do squat in the NFL.

Vick was mediocre as a passer w/the Falcons. Tebow was terrible, as you mentioned above. Nobody even knows who Vince Young is. I had hoped that the Jets would work on Tebow's passing...which I believe they started to. I'd love to see him play a quarter, and have him throw the ball.

The Jets's problems have returned to the same problems they had years ago....no running game. As such, the defense gets to tee off on the QB, and Sanchez is horrible when he doesn't have time.

As are most QBs.

With RGIII, Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick we are seeing some young QB's who can run. However you are correct, they must be able to throw the ball. With a certain package of plays I think Tebow can offer some value. That value isn't as an every down starting QB.

Look what happened to RG3. In the NFL, if you think you're going to run most of the time, you're going to get hurt. Randall Cunningham was the exception, but that was before your time. More amazing, is that you used to be able to hit the QB back then.

Tebow would've done well in the Jets' wildcat offense, which they seem to have ditched. The defense knows that he's only going to run, which takes away his ability to do same. I don't understand why the Jets didn't offer him the ability to throw more often in an option type offense?

To be fair. There's only so many Johnny Unitas's out there.

What do you mean he was the exception? Hell he got his leg broke and Cunningham was never the same again.
