Obamacare opponents warned that forcing companies employing 50 or more full-time workers to buy healthcare would prompt employers to slash jobs and worker hours. And that’s exactly what’s happening, says one of President Barack Obama’s favorite economists, Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics.
“It will have a negative impact on job creation” this year, says Mr. Zandi.
The Obamacare employer mandate doesn’t go into effect until January 1, 2014, but the government requires businesses to track worker schedules for three to 12 months in advance. That means many employers plan to get a jump start on avoiding Obamacare’s $2,000 per-worker fine by firing workers now, reducing employee hours, or replacing full-time employees with part-time workers.

It isn't about blame. It is about a rational response to the legislation.

Maybe you can explain why Obama wrote the legislation the way he did if he was concerned about providing insurance?

Why stop at 50 employees?

Personally I think that Obamacare does not go far enough.Though I would not have put in the "Mandatory" provision. But I would like to see government take over health care for and make it free and available to everyone.

it's free for the takers, because they don't contribute anything in the first place. that's what they mean whenever they slip up and call something free. it's free for them...obviously.

I dont know how you define free.But I define it as free, that is it cost nothing no strings attached. Before the coming of the corporation many things were free.This whole country was gotten free.Of course they stole it from the Native Americans.

Why don't you demand food be given to everyone.....FREE....what could be more conducive to your health than food.....

I',m sure farmers would be more than happy to work for the good of the nation ...... free food for everyone.....

and you're an idiot. do you think medicine just falls from the magic fairy and sparkles tree? what about research and development? who are those people paid by to do their research to discover new medicines? for their scientific research leading to medical breakthroughs? who pays the doctors to operate on you? do you suspect they will all work for nothing?

Medicine comes from trees and plants that grew wild in the first place.

Did you actually read the article? The companies and institutions surveyed are downsizing specifically to dodge the 50 employee rule and cutting hours so people aren't full time workers. Woo hoo! Free healthcare!
