Beck tried to buy Current TV

NOVA

U. S. NAVY Veteran
The multimillion dollar deal came after Current rebuffed TheBlaze when it approached the network about buying the channel last year. According to a source close to the negotiations, officials at TheBlaze were told that “the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.”

An executive for TheBlaze confirmed these details on Thursday, noting that the decision not to sell to Beck’s network came only hours after executives reached out to a Current representative to discuss the matter. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Hyatt said that the decision to go with the Middle Easter outlet came, in part, because, “al-Jazeera was founded with the same goals we had for Current.”

Thats quite an admission for AlGore owned TV network.....but not surprising in the least..

Gee, I though righties supported individuals hiring, firing, buying from selling to, etc. anyone they chose without interference. So what's the big deal here?

Maybe they didn't like the bonehead's latest rant.

"Shortly after President Barack Obama won re-election last month, NewsOne compiled the often ridiculous — and always dramatic — reactions of Republicans. Now you can add Glenn Beck‘s name to that list, after he announced this week that his New Year’s resolution involved firing anyone who mentioned the President’s name on his show.

Bitter much?

After coming back from his 18-day vacation, Beck told his co-hosts that there would be consequences for anyone on his show that mentioned President Obama’s name, “Anybody who brings him up, besides me, is fired.” Incredulous, co-host Stu Burguiere replied, “I hope I have some immunity here if I say this incorrectly, but can we say, ‘The President did blah, blah, blah. The President said….’”

To which Beck responded that he would evaluate statements on a “case-by-case basis.” Beck then informed his colleagues that audio of Obama’s voice was also barred, with Burguiere saying, “Now we can’t play his audio…but I think we have to say [the President's name].

Irritated, Beck attempted to clarify his Obama-firing policy here:
You can allude to him. You can play Joe Biden. But I don’t want to hear the man’s voice. I don’t want to hear him. I don’t want to know about him. You want that information? Go any place else. There’s thousands of outlets; you can have all the information you want. I am not talking about that man.
Another co-host eventually chimed in, “When he signs the executive order banning assault guns, don’t we have to mention his name? He is the President.”
But Beck refused to back down.

Yea, accurate and unbiased reporting...the antithesis of Fox News.

Al Jazeera

In the 2000s, the network was praised by the Index on Censorship for circumventing censorship and contributing to the free exchange of information in the Arab world, and by the Webby Awards, who nominated it as one of the five best news web sites, along with BBC News, National Geographic and The Smoking Gun. It was also voted by brandchannel.com readers as the fifth most influential global brand behind Apple, Google, Ikea and Starbucks. In 2011, Salon.com said Al Jazeera's coverage of the 2011 Egyptian protests was superior to that of the American news media, while U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton also opined that the network's news coverage was more informative, and less opinion-driven than American journalism
