Yeah, after the crusades!Since 632 the Muslims have been attacking the West without cessation. This isn't about who feels persecuted; this is about the ongoing survival of the West.
Dumbass

Many say that Muslim women take the veil, or the Hijab, willingly. I don't think I've seen it claimed they take the Burka willingly, but who knows.
I resist this idea, because IMO, they are the product of a culture that tells them this what they must do. I feel the idea of free choice, or willingness, becomes very sketchy at that point. Again, this is a difference I have with certain other feminists of my acquaintance. At times it has become heated.
The problem with all of this is, no matter what, the change has to come from within. So it really doesn't matter much what I believe. There's no doubt that where women are educated, freedom from many things becomes possible though.
I posted this in another thread that I feel sums it up rather succinctly:
Do you actually believe only Christians find these actions abhorrent? Or is this just another strawdawg to divert from the topic?
I'm going with the latter.........
The historian that you are, isn't a more honest assessment is Eastern aggression meets Western aggression?
My comment biatch slapped the liberals so hard, that it made The Dude groan.![]()
Well, you kept mentioning Christians as if they are the only ones who can see the savagery of Islam. Doesn't take a religious nut to see a bunch of backward people acting like savages.Of course I don't believe that ONLY Christians find these actions abhorrent.
My point was THE REASON many Christians find it abhorrent.
NOT because they suddenly care so very much about the abuses of women around the globe...but because they believe they can make Liberals in a bad light by putting forth the lunacy that Liberals CONDONE the actions of a very few sick Muslims.

Really, how so? I'm not involved with murderers and backwards savages. What compels you to defend rapists and murderers?Yeah, if you are an example, I bet your family is often perceived that way by outsiders.

Uh, you said my relatives are probably perceived as savages because, why again? Because I am pointing out people who act like savages?Show me where I have done so, i'll wait.

That's your back-handed way of defending them, attacking me.
Still waiting...
Christians kill way more than Muslims. You redneckWell, you kept mentioning Christians as if they are the only ones who can see the savagery of Islam. Doesn't take a religious nut to see a bunch of backward people acting like savages.
Post 111 does it.......but an idiot like you won't get it.....
I don't despise any religion, just like guns, religions are misused by many humans.
Islam is an example. The poll provided by Melos shows countries where the extremists control the religion, funny, they never include Saudi Arabia, why is that?
I wonder if a poll taken in the USA, England, Canada or Japan would show Muslims being in favor of these extreme forms of corporal punishment, and remember, the USA is considered barbarous because we still have the death penalty, I bet you would find the USA Muslims have adapted the culture of the West nd do not agree with stoning for breaking the law.
I'm not sure polls are allowed in Saudi Arabia. Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Jordan all have a system with democratic features of varying degrees of functionality. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, is one of the least free and least democratic countries in the world.
Japan still has the death penalty as well. In fact, unlike here, where there's at least a debate, it has virtually unanimous support in Japan.
Also, there's some truth to what you said. I once listened to a lecture on comparative religion, and the professor* mentioned that he often found that his Christian students found more in common with American Muslims than Christian Lebanese.
*A southern Baptist minister, BTW.
