I think a big reason so many are fat is because the FDA(Gov't) said ok to sweeteners in sodas and other foods. We didn't have a problem before that.

An ER visit used to be $150.
Now it costse $1500.
On top of the $1800 another I pay, which increased from $900 a month a year ago.
