Some fucking stress test. I read the bill and my heart started beating faster than when I did the stress test. What a fucking racket. How do they get away with this shit? They're the only mother fuckers I know who can bill you for a service and not tell you what that service is going to cost you.

At any point in the process you could have said NO. You didn't. You also weren't paying cash so they can't tell you how much it will cost because in some resects depending on your insurance you pay very little

Hell yea that's an outrageous cost but what did I have to do to get someone to say "This is going to cost X dollars"? I mean I should be able to make an informed financial decision about my health care cost. Who do these pricks think they are? You couldn't get an honest answer from them to that question if you beat them over the head with a tire iron.

LOL Oh the results were fine and those kind of out of pocket charges are pretty standard with todays ubiquetous high deductable policies. What really pisses me off was I went there in the first place to schedule a colonoscopy and it got side tracked by this bullshit. Grrrrrrrr.

Easily. They provide a service for which they earn a good salary that is funded by the public. The system in France, which by the way is the best in the world in terms of results, uses private insurance companies to manage health care finance but they are legaly operated as non-profits. In fact in all modern industrialized nations except the US all health insurance companies are operated as non-profits. It's a big factor in controling costs.

Yes they do....they also work with MBA's for bosses who tell the physicians......if you have even the slightest little inkling that this person may not have the cardiovascular health of Carl Lewis then send them to the cardiologist! GP's get a lot of pressure from administrators to gin up testing and procedures so as in drive up revenue.

And what really pisses me off is this god damned stress test side tracked what I went there for the first place about. My family history of cancer.
 
If the fool don't know what his co-pay will be or out of pocket costs will be under his plan for a procedure....hes the idiot.....
If he thinks there is a set cost for taking your BP or giving a stress test, hes even a bigger fool......tests take up time and its usually different for each patient ....
a stress test could take 10 minutes or it could take 30 minutes or 45 minutes, ....nurses time, doctors evaluation, etc.....whatever.....you ain't buying a bag of peanuts.....

You went there for one thing, that's the only thing you should be concerned with. "Oh, you recommend that eh? That's great doc, but about what I actually came here for..."
