Christianity under fire!

I'm a big opponent of organized religion--I came up with 'Freedom FROM Religion' (a pre-requisite for freedom OF religion) long before I ever heard of the group.

That said, the school is wrong here.

Freedom from the domination of others by and propogation to others of fairy tales must be separated from trampling on freedom of conscience. As long as they keep that shit to themselves, it's their own business. A voluntary bible study group, and modest religious symbols even on public property qualifies as 'their own business'.

You mean like they did with the muslim kids?

The difference is that there is no requirement for Christians to kneel to pray.

No requirement ?....How lame can you get.....what is 'required' by anyone practicing religion is in the conscience of that person....its not a rule.

You made a point which posed an indirect question.
If you use two oars you'll find you move in a straight line. That one you have at the moment is sending you round in circles.
peep peeeep. captain coming aboard.

some now you imagining INDIRECT questions in what I post......simply amazing.....and typically pinheaded.....

believe me mate, if I have question, I'll ask it directly with a the proper punctuation so you will KNOW and not have to IMAGINE what doesn't exist.

NO requirement to kneel and pray?
When I was young I was forced by parents to kneel and pray.
Good ol evangelical christians.

Post 96
Why omit the pertinent words.....Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.

Is there a law that says you must pray ..... is there a penalty if you don't.....
Or are pinheads trying to make a law that says you MUST NOT PRAY....?

Actually it says that "Congress shall make no law respecting AN establishment of religion..."

AN establishment...not THE establishment.

Yes....as I quoted in Post 96 above....

Its a distinction without a significant difference, isn't it?..... whether

the proposed law is about establishing a religion, or
the proposed law is about an already established religion
the governments hands are tied.

What the pinheads are trying to do is prevent the free exercise of religion by interpreting a meaning that isn't there...

The same method they are trying to use to get around the rights stated 2nd Amendment

Idiot.

I thought it came with delusions you could make the case the Bible contained nothing historical.....

It rather depends how you define 'truth' and 'proof' doesn't it? There is no first hand proof that anything in the bible is true. If we accept that certain events and places are historically accurate in that they agree with other evidence it does not suggest that the rest of the bible is true.
It is now recognised by the mainstream religions (not, of course, the loony churches in America) that the bible is not literally accurate or true but that, at best, it is a collection of stories designed to promote a code of beliefs to people who, at the time, had no other experience and at worst it is allegorical.
I was thinking the other day (yes, quite a novelty) that if America ever became religiously sensible we would lose a great deal of the stuff that, in a humourous way, brightens our days. So you carry on believing Pimpy, cos it IS true. Every last word of every translation of every dead and live sea scroll. Halle-bloody-luyah.

At least America doesn't have an Offically Established Church, like England does.
Suck on that, you wanker.
