Keeping Atheism Out of Schools?

Parents have been indoctrinating their children in their chosen values and religious beliefs since humans first walked upright....It least they
don't seem to be taught to hate and kill infidels and become walking bombs like in the Middle East.

No, I don't have to prove anything....You've just seen it with your own eyes.....and still refuse to accept what you see.....that puts you beyond help....
you won't even rethink to help yourself after you've watched the videos....classic, extreme denial on your part....

and then you really go off the deep end with bullshit like I'm worried that they don't preach enough hate for minorities.....maybe liberalism is a mental illness.

I don't want to be a teacher. I want to control radical, liberal, Democrat teachers already there, brainwashing YOUR children to further their political agenda...

We don't need our own version of madrasas or a redo of Hitler Youth or Asian re-education camps...

Then I will just dismiss your claims as the paranoid delusions of a hate filled bigot based on an isolated incident for which you lack sufficient details. Only one of your examples shows children being led. The videos could have easily been a project chosen by the kids especially the second and third ones. IDK, and you don't care.

You failed to respond to the example of school kids singing praises to Bush.

We don't need big government bureaucrats micro managing every teacher. We don't need to turn schools into some ideological battlefield because you are paranoid. If one teacher goes overboard then you address that teacher.

Isn't that Alex Jones' website?

Yes...Bravo has no shame. Or intelligence.

Really? There's a few hundred more...want me to post them too?

Recently an atheist group was granted permission by the school board to leave atheist literature on a table located in local high schools. They are required to register with the school and can't speak to the students.

Agree or disagree?

Totally agree. The school curriculum is (should be) designed to give all children an education to fit them for adulthood. Interference from ANY outside body should not be allowed.
If philosophy is on the curriculum and discusses deism, atheism or any other ism then so be it.

Here is a link to the story to which I assume Howey is referring.

Religious nuts constantly whine that they are being targeted but the truth is that they demand special treatment. Next, the WBC is going to demand that their literature on why God hates fags be placed in shools, then the Wiccans and every other nut. The schools are then expected to house this crap?

Our schools should not be turned into soapboxes for selfish Christian ideologues.

Given that bibles were placed on the tables .. I fully agree with the decision to place atheist material on the table.

Amen...Shall we call this "collateral damage"?

(Disclaimer: This story is from The Blaze so be prepared for half-truths and flat out lies)

Atheists in Orange County, Fla., are taking the Bible to task. Central Florida Freethought (CFF), a local, secular group associated with the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), plans to distribute atheist books in public schools after a religious organization began giving away free Bibles in 11 of the county’s public schools. At least one of the literary works, “An X-Rated Book: Sex & Obscenity in the Bible,” is sure to raise eyebrows.

David Williamson, a member of the CFF, believes that allowing the Bibles in schools is wrong, so to combat the practice his organization is planning to distribute its own literature — material that affirms atheist, agnostic and “free-thinking” themes.

“The county has invited people in now to do this, and what we need to do is put the views of the biblical creationists into perspective with our perspective,”said Williamson. ”It’s not tit for tat. Our effort is to ensure the county realizes this is the wrong policy.”

lol....what's that phrase?

Its hard enough undoing the damage that is happening in the classrooms now.

We don't need our own version of madrasas or a redo of Hitler Youth or Asian re-education camps...

I dont know what these particular atheists were doing. There is no organization that represents all atheists .Atheism is an idea not an organized religion.

As with christians and muslims there is a 'fervent' side to atheism. There are now 'godless' churches!! There are evangelistic atheists too. I don't mean contributors to forums like this where the argument or debate is the motivation but out there in real life. Atheist do not believe in any god. That doesn't mean to say they hold an opposite view point necessarily. Atheist really don't give a damn what others believe but often draw the line where people who believe in fantasy try to influence those who cannot make up their own minds. That is mostly children but also the simple minded (yes, the simple minded exist in all walks of life).

No...the video's prove NOTHING.

You've shown no one any proof whatsoever of any insidious plot to indoctrinate the children of this nation.

As usual however, you've shown everyone just how narrow minded most Righties are, and how easy it is for the insane to see conspiracy theories anywhere you want to.
