The 'character assassination' of Mr. Woodward machine looks like it is being oiled up and getting ready
to roll .....this is what happens when you dare question the Grand Wizard of the Democrat Party.
If it works as well as it has in the past, he will join the long list of Republicans put through the liberal grinder
personal attack machine...lies, unfounded accusations, quotes out of context, innuendo, and just general trashing will be
the order of the day.......joining,
Sarah Palin
Robert Bork
Dick Cheney
Newt Gingrich
Herman Cain
Mitt Romney
and a host of others....

I hope his personal life, money dealings, wife and family are all up to the onslaught that is coming....

Unfounded accusations? Quotes out of context?

Yeah, the right never does that kind of stuff - sometimes called "swiftboating" - to the left.

Welcome to politics.

After Karl Rove and his machine you have the audacity to complain about what happened to those you listed getting handled in the press, you are at least good for a hearty belly laugh.

What's that?

You say Woodward and some hateful Righties out to destroy the Obama presidency just made up some bullshit?

Prove it...

A rhetorical threat allegedly issued to veteran Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward by a top White House official turns out to be not quite what the press first made of it, according to emails obtained by Politico.

Woodward, one half of the journalistic duo credited with inspiring the resignation of President Richard Nixon (R), has criticized President Barack Obama’s (D) handling of the debt limit negotiations and the “sequestration” budget cuts those negotiations produced.

That supposedly raised the ire of a senior Obama administration official who “yelled at me for about a half hour,” Woodward told Politico on Wednesday. The unnamed official allegedly said the reporter would come to “regret” his writing on the sequester.

Now that the full exchange has been published, it would seem the earlier context implied a much more strongly-worded discussion. In other words, the threat to Woodward turns out to be almost nothing at all.

“I apologize for raising my voice in our conversation today. My bad,” Obama economic adviser Gene Sperling wrote to Woodward. “I do understand your problems with a couple of our statements in the fall — but feel on the other hand that you focus on a few specific trees that gives a very wrong perception of the forest. But perhaps we will just not see eye to eye here.”

“But I do truly believe you should rethink your comment about saying saying that Potus asking for revenues is moving the goal post,” he continued. “I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim. The idea that the sequester was to force both sides to go back to try at a big or grand bargain with a mix of entitlements and revenues (even if there were serious disagreements on composition) was part of the DNA of the thing from the start. It was an accepted part of the understanding — from the start. Really.”

Woodward replied: “You do not ever have to apologize to me. You get wound up because you are making your points and you believe them. This is all part of a serious discussion. I for one welcome a little heat; there should [sic] more given the importance. I also welcome your personal advice. I am listening.
I know you lived all this. My partial advantage is that I talked extensively with all involved.”

How about that?

How about this....

The latest claim comes from Lanny Davis, who served as counsel to former President Bill Clinton and later went on to write a column for The Washington Times. In a radio interview on WMAL
external-link.png
, Davis said that a "senior Obama White House official" once called his editor at the Times and said that if the paper continued to run his columns, "his reporters would lose their credentials."

Davis said he "couldn't imagine why this call was made" since he's an Obama supporter.

Lanny Davis, who served under President Bill Clinton as special counsel to the White House, told Washington, D.C.’s WMAL this morning that the Obama White House had threatened the Washington Times over his column, warning that the Times would suffer limited access to White House officials and might have its White House credentials revoked.
I hope some other media clowns find some balls and start telling it like it is......

My guess is Woodward is out of money and looking for a good story/book. His fame began and ended with "Deep Throat" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Throat) and he's been living off his laurels ever since. After reading the emails it's obvious the guy flew over the cuckoo's nest. Sad. :(

How about Lanny Davis, is he out of money too ?

Apple, you're such an asshole, really a pathetic loser.

Thank-you, Nova. When assholes consider me an asshole I take that as a compliment.

I don't know how things work in your world but when someone threatened me they didn't follow up with an email or phone call or any other communication and apologize for raising their voice as Sperling did with Woodward. If it was left at that it would be absurdly funny, however, Woodward then wrote Sperling the following, "You do not ever have to apologize to me. You get wound up because you are making your points and you believe them. This is all part of a serious discussion. I for one welcome a little heat;..."

Frankly, it sounds more like a lover's quarrel. "Sorry I raised my voice, Sugar Plum. Awww, that's OK, Sweety. Here's a big hug." (http://www.politico.com/playbook/0213/playbook10122.html)

Then Woodward goes on national TV and claims he was threatened! I''m giving Woodward the benefit of the doubt by suggesting he might be in serious financial trouble and wanted attention for his book.

In any event it was a slimy thing to do. The emails make it clear any misunderstanding between them was resolved.

If Woodward felt he had reason to worry before all doubt is now removed. No one is going to trust him. To air a private matter in public after both parties have "made up"......what can I say? Lover's quarrel.

Woodward is a has been old dude like bravo!

Something is wrong. Maybe Woodward was outraged someone would talk to "His Highness" in such a manner. He comes across as an unpretentious, humble individual but like many who do project such an air are actually full of themselves.

I used to respect the guy but something snapped.

having seen the emails woodward looks like a real jerk whos seeking some air time

Thats what we love about pinheads, they've got an excuse for everything......

like the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. Just look how happy the rotten Apple is....

A clear threat in the email, is still a threat even if you regret making it and apoligize...irrelevant

and then the admission that Lanny Davis was also threatened just brings on more lame excuses and attacks against the victim....

Pinheads just can't stand the truth about themselves or their partys gutter political tactics.

Nova,

I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out the above claims. Just my sincere advice. Your call obviously.
