I would wager if one perused the Bible one could find a verse that also appears to support this crime...what is your point?

If it was a Christian committing the crime I would call for him/her to be tried in court just like any other accused in this country.

Howey, this was most likely a hate crime by an Egyptian Muslim on two fellow countrymen who were Coptic Christians. I am sure that you are aware how persecuted Coptic Christians have been historically and in the present. There have been many cases of churches being burnt and people killed.
