Co-ops are great in theory. Trouble is that they include people, some of whom are bloody lazy, some greedy, some argumentative, some stupid and one or two of whom know what they are doing after the initial honeymoon period.
For a co-op to work, therefore, one needs almost instant success and prolonged excitement and passion.

I think as the population becomes more desperate and tired of corporatism, this will be the thing of the future. We will always have lazy, greedy argumentative, some co-ops will succeed, others will fail, but I still think this is huge.
 
This is the future. We know it can work, we know it has. We know the current conditions are poor, we know they should be better, we know they can be better. The pendulum's moving down and we're just seeing another facet of our developing new world.

Collectivization was forecast long ago. Don't get left behind.

there is a way to get around that....first of all you issue shares in the venture based upon everyone's contribution.....then, a value is placed upon the services that people perform.....for example, if one person puts forty hours worth of time into the venture they receive cash in exchange for the time they put in.......this is treated as an expense and as the venture generates income this expense is recovered before any proceeds are distributed to share holders........

It will never work; because society just can't seem to find out how to stop that pendulum from swinging.
At times it goes all the way to the right, people want change, and then the changes they make cause it to swing all the way to the left.

It's best shown in the Justice system.
Punish the criminal - swing
Rehabilitate the criminal - swing
Stop wasting money and punish the criminal - swing
We'll save money through rehabilitation - swing
etc
etc
etc

History only moves forward. What the pendulum represents is speed of progress.
