Today is Mothering Sunday. Not that cheap ersatz American Mothers' Day. Mothering Sinday is the original and the only genuine 'be nice to your Mum' day. No need to buy pressies, just show your appreciation.
So we went for a lovely champagne brunch (they call it brunch but really it is just lunch). And ate lots of lovely stuff and drank far, far too much very cheap champagne...which is only cheap crap until you get to the fourth glass and are beginning to get used to it! Scrummy Aussie beef, NZ lamb, German sausage, petit fours, petit fives and slightly less petit sixes! And the weather is abso-friggin-lutley perfect at 27 degs and low humidity. Philpine girl band singing 50s and 60s hits and showing off their most perfect bums! Ahhhhhhhh. I asked the wife why she couldn't make her butt look like that. I'm sure the black eye she gave me will be OK by tomorrow.
Chocolate fountain, chocolates, all sorts of dessert and a place to be sick!
Roll on fathers' day. Might leave 'er at home!
