Breathing is a semicontrolled action. You'd breathe involunterily if you conciously tried not to, and will always continue to do so until death. No more an instinct than cell divsion is.
Fear of water is aquired through experience. No infant I know is afraid of water by from second 1. Not all children are afraid of water. Instincts are universial.
Learning the mother's vioce is an
impression, a learned sound from before one is
born.
Screaming due to hunger is a
primitive instinct. I would like to stress the prominence of the word reflex in that article.
Again, humans do not posess rightful instinct.
