now here is some federal idiocy

Here we are in the heat of a major gun control debate in the nation where one would THINK we have some decently intelligent people doing the talking, and then we have this....

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/27/us-agencies-join-war-against-gun-owners/

America’s gun owners are under siege on virtually all fronts. Congress is after us, and so are governors such as New York’s Andrew Cuomo and Maryland’s Martin O'Malley. They must think that when they run for the Democratic presidential nomination, a strong anti-gun stance will help them with left-wing primary voters.

It doesn’t stop there, however, as the media, liberal legislators and both federal and state regulators are looking for new and often unique ways to please their liberal bosses by harassing gun owners, dealers and manufacturers.

One major national firearms retailer, for example, has been under fire for more than two years from the Obama administration’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. It seems the company (A gun manufacturer) won’t hire convicted felons, which the commission claims amounts to illegal racial discrimination.

The OP is a rebuttal to logic.
it appears that I pissed in your cheerios today. good.

now let me ask you, and maybe you'll be smart enough to answer, why is it not idiocy to demand that a gun manufacturer hire convicted felons, especially when there are federal laws that prohibit felons from possessing firearms?

Apparently they can make them just not own them.
Does everyone who works in a Mercedes plant own a Mercedes?

Sheesh, Do I have to spell it all out like a 1st grade reading book to you?

this is what happens when people like you don't bother to learn all the laws that apply to you. maybe you should look up 'constructive possession' case law, or are you going to be a statist moron and say that this only applies to people who live with gun owners????? sheesh, do I have to spell it out to you like a kindergartner?

Except federal law doesn't just prevent ownership, it prohibits any and ALL handling of firearms. We had a couple of infantry guys who had felony convictions. They weren't allowed to have rifles or ammo.

Seems like the claim that a policy against hiring felons is racist is racist in itself. Because in order for that policy to appear to be racist, it would mean that all criminals are a single race, which is an incorrect generalization, and racist. So. Apparently the Obama administration thinks that criminals are minorities. And is racist...

Isn't logic fun?

that is handling of a completed gun. Only the ones in the finishing or shipping stages handle completed guns in a gun factory.

Logic requires all the facts.

but apparently it's only done that way until the ATF wants to prosecute a felon for constructive possession. it's bullshit and you're doing nothing more than promoting an entirely unfair justice system. understandable, since you also prefer a police state to freedom.

But not from making them at a job.

Now these people can even vote in some states.

Well that is unless the republican party cheats them out of their vote

Nooooo.......the ATF considers the lower reciever of an AR15 for example to be a firearm. Legally a felon may not handle one even though its only a firearms part in reality.
