Does Krugman ever have a point? Has the Democratic Party gone to the extreme by moving away from Kennedy's tax cuts to Mondale's proposed tax hikes in 1984?

Why? Krugman offers no facts to support that position either.

Since you are answering a question with questions, I take it that you agree with Krugman's assertion and you are saying the Dems have changed as well.

Yes, I agree with Krugman that the GOP has changed. As for California - Krugman is just being an apologist. It's irrelevant who the opposition is in this case, because the left has wrecked California. I guess Krugman wants to blame the GOP for letting it happen rather than blame the Dems for actually doing it...
 
Google "krugman schooled in debate" and you'll see plenty of examples of this fool being destroyed. You'll also find an article by Krugman himself saying how face-to-face debates are useless, but he does them anyway to promote his books.

And you stupid libs eat it up.

Except that was not the focus of his article. The focus of his article was that CA is not in as bad a shape as the Reps say it is. The link I posted states why that position is valid and why the Reps counter position is also valid.

As for 'extreme' positions the Reps have taken, tell me which you refer to and we can certainly discuss them. Just saying 'they have extreme positions' without providing examples is nothing more than rhetoric.

When you look at CA, there are the good and the bad examples that can be pointed to. Stockton going bankrupt is not a good sign, yet Krugman ignores it. The pension problems are still there. They have a short term fix with the escalation of taxes, but will that help the long term problems? Too early to tell the effect of the tax hikes on their economy.
