i agree
I didn't say what you agreed with Grind.
i agree
people usually tend to comment on the attractiveness of those that would normally be attracted to. guys usually don't think about how attractive other guys are. Obama isn't gay.
It's okay until it's not okay. Every woman understands this. I can't explain it any better than that.

I know women commented on the looks of Romney, Edwards, Brown. I have even heard some state it was the reason they voted or them. I think it becomes uncomfortable when it is accompanied by other statements or actions where a women feels she is being objectified or it makes working conditions uncomfortable.
I fel we have become a little too PC, but I also know that it is an individual thing, some women feel uncomfortable, others, like myself enoy a compliment. I am also the type that will speak up if I become uncomfortable with where the conversation is going.
I get the idea, but I have no idea where the OK-NOT OK line is for a lot of people (and it's not really a line since it exists in more than two dimensions and is a function of multiple variables) so I avoid this stuff will most people altogether.
Until it crosses a line and makes one uncomfortable. It is usually tone and body language that accompanies the statements! The leering, or touching. If it gets creepy!

And then of course, sometimes it's not that it's not okay, but rather that it's too soon. Maybe we should all come with our own operating manuals.
Yeah it can be really difficult to navigate because of course what is okay for me with one man is going to be, ick what a creeper with another man, and yes I know that's not fair and this is why in some ways we are all socially awkward I think. If it is okay and I am really cool with it, I have no problem getting that across. It's when it's not okay that I have trouble communicating that. But some women have no problem at all communicating it and may even like bean a guy in the head with their glass or something. LOL
And then other times, while it used to be OK it's not OK anymore.
so it's sorta like this then?:
The idea that the thing that the President finds remarkable in this very accomplished and successfull women is her looks could be considered insulting.
I don't find it offensive but I'm a male so what do I know...
Obama's "best-looking" remark draws reaction
Instead of leaving the Bay Area Thursday after what would have normally been a quiet two-day fundraising trip, President Obama faced some criticism for calling California's Kamala Harris "the best-looking attorney general in the country."
Obama's comments came at the second of two fundraisers in Atherton Thursday and began with praise for Harris' performance as attorney general.
"You have to be careful to, first of all, say she is brilliant and she is dedicated and she is tough, and she is exactly what you'd want in anybody who is administering the law and making sure that everybody is getting a fair shake," Obama said. "She also happens to be by far the best-looking attorney general in the country."
Reacting to news reports of the event, some critics labeled the remarks insulting. "Obama in need of gender-sensitivity training," read one blog from New York Magazine.
The reactions took place mostly on Twitter and on blogs, and many commentators took the comment as an opportunity to joke about who they believe are the most attractive attorneys general.
Also at the fundraiser, Obama singled out South Bay Rep. Mike Honda, a Democrat from San Jose who is facing former Obama administration official and fellow Democrat Ro Khanna in the 2014 election. The Honda campaign has been touting Obama's endorsement.
"Somebody who works tirelessly on behalf of California every day but also works on behalf of working people and makes sure that we've got a more inclusive America - a good friend of mine, somebody who you guys should be very proud of," Obama said of Honda.
The Atherton fundraisers benefited the Democratic National Committee and were held at the homes of Mark Heising and Liz Simons, and Marcia and John Goldman.
In his remarks, Obama highlighted the legacy he hopes to leave after his second term, saying he wanted to improve the economy for the middle class, address climate change and push for gay rights.
He also said he hopes to see immigration reform and new gun-control laws enacted, but that Americans will have to mobilize for such initiatives if the gridlocked Congress is to act.
Obama on Wednesday held two fundraisers in San Francisco for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, at which he emphasized his goal to return House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco to the speakership.
Obama left San Francisco Thursday afternoon and returned to Washington.

He did preface it with her abilities, but it would have been better if left unsaid.
Natch. I'm sure it's front page on Drudge.
There's a big difference between complimenting a woman's liiks and job performance and making ignorant remarks.
