"Reasonable amount to retire" It's funny how people use words like reasonable and sensible when they're justifying batshit crazy actions.

"The senior administration official said that wealthy taxpayers can currently “accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving.”

Boo Hoo Hoo

That is big talk. Are you going to be happy to give up your money when they come for it or are you going to demand to talk to the chief?:) Asking why your exemption for being a good little progressive shill does not buy you the exemption from the confiscation?
Going to be great when they ignore your silly self , take your wealth and give you a hearty fuck you as thanks.
Get ready genius it is coming unless you are a top government official. Are you?

and when they come for yours?

Considering what the wife and I make, the Government is going to go through a whole lot of American's savings before they get to us, and frankly, I think this latest paranoid delusion is nothing more than utter fantasy and never going to happen.

Why don't you try explaining it to me...

This should be good!

They are governed by law. There is ZERO tax advantage for the wealthy or "uber billionaires" as you put it. ZERO. There are legally allowed tax exempt amounts one can contribute to an IRA and they apply to EVERYONE rich and poor alike. Now, if you are whining and complaining that the poor aren't able to put away those legally allowed amounts, you should take that up with the Congress that passed those laws oh so many years ago.

BTW, it was the purchases of stocks and mutual funds in those IRAs that spurred the growth in the stock market all those years ago.

Yeah, I know, you are one of those "rich" liberals who doesn't have to worry about a thing right? You are rich, but not too rich so as to incur self loathing right? Apparently the only poor liberal on this site is Wanderingbear
