Why? So...you're saying it's in the Constitution that mentally unstable(or worse) are allowed to have fully automatic weapons?

Also, you are suggesting that you need to pay for YEARS of testing (that's the typical length of in depth pysch evals) to exercise a fundamental right. I bet you're against poll taxes and literacy tests though aren't you, you hypocrite you.

You can have your rights removed via due process of law, such as adjudication. Try reading the Constitution sometime. And it says far more than full autos. It says ships of war.

I never said anything of the sort. But you do want to burden people who have done nothing wrong and have no intention of doing so. You want to make it harder to exercise a natural right, so that fewer people will do so. That's just as despicable.

And just what is voter ID? The incidences of voter fraud are so miniscule that it barely registers on the legitimacy meter...but here we are....forcing people to get ID's that they either have to pay out of pocket to attain, or spend money for transportation to get one. All because it affects our poorest the hardest....and they tend to vote Dem.

You see, the difference between you and I is that I have no problem registering my weapons. I have nothing to hide. I don't believe for an instant that the "commies" are coming to get us and we need to stand ready for some kind of armed rebellion. If.....on the million to one chance that were to happen? I'd be a dead man....as would you....and it wouldn't matter if you registered or not.

No, I'm saying you're making a distinction based solely on how they look, not how they function. Though I will give credit where it is due, and you, thus far anyways, have proven to be far more competent on the matter than anyone else on the board.

Hey...you're the one that brought up the exercising of basic rights. Yes, I am against poll taxes and literacy tests. Although, I don't know why I'm against the latter.....1/2 of the FoxNews/AM radio crowd would probably be dropped from the rolls.

No, I am not....I am making the distinction based on their design and their intended application. We all know that all guns operate in the same basic way....that a 7.62mm shell fires at the same basic velocity as a .308 deer rifle. Same with a 5.56mm and a .223 varmint rifle....but the design and application of an AK or M16A4 is not the same as a BDL deer rifle or SPS varmint rifle
