Why? So...you're saying it's in the Constitution that mentally unstable(or worse) are allowed to have fully automatic weapons?
I propose that anyone seeking military spec weapons should have to pay for and maintain an enhanced licence.... and part of the qualifications to even ATTAIN that license would be to submit to psychological testing. If you pass, you get to own any center fire weapon you want....even fully automatic ones.

You can have your rights removed via due process of law, such as adjudication. Try reading the Constitution sometime. And it says far more than full autos. It says ships of war.
So, in other words...yes. Coming from a 25 year old gun dealer, why doesn't this surprise me?
So what is a "military spec weapon"?
Also, you are suggesting that you need to pay for YEARS of testing (that's the typical length of in depth pysch evals) to exercise a fundamental right. I bet you're against poll taxes and literacy tests though aren't you, you hypocrite you.
Don't play the caliber game with me.... you know exactly what I am talking about.
Wow...scintillating and well thought out retort....let's see...you used the words....Democrat, liberal, socialist and dumbass all in the same sentence.... let me guess....you "loves" you some AM radio, don't you?
No, PLEASE explain. I'm sure I could learn a lot, what with the burden of youth and all.
Like handguns?Easily concealable,
So, everything made in the last 50ish years....capable of using high capacity magazines,
Like this?and DESIGNED for modern military use.
Well, no one goes with AR-15s either.....You certainly wouldn't go to war in this day and age with a Remington 7600 or a Marlin 30/30, would you?

You're talking about things in terms of how they look, not the end result of how they function.So....he wants to play the scary gun card....how many of our soldiers carry BDL's? A few snipers? I am talking about tactical weapons and you know it. Stop playing stupid.
I never said anything of the sort. But you do want to burden people who have done nothing wrong and have no intention of doing so. You want to make it harder to exercise a natural right, so that fewer people will do so. That's just as despicable.Handguns? I like handguns...don't own a semi-auto though...I have a single action revolver.
Like I said...I don't want anything banned.

Doesn't matter. They're way too giddy about this story to use any reasoning capability.
I mean, they've found it - the perfect equivalency to gun control arguments. I hate to deny them their mindless rejoicing.
It's not rational to make policies based on such a stupid assumption. I thought you idiots were supposed to be the logical ones. What if those lawful citizens with ZERO criminal records are barely controlled homicidal maniacs just waiting for a good enough reason to pop?
I'm not the one swatting at ghosts, bub. You've got your abortion rights, but that doesn't seem to be enough. What do you want?As far as the rest of your post? What a kind Christian you seem to be. I guess non-judgmentalism and forgiveness is only for people with whom you agree with.....besides.... if you had your way, obviously it wouldn't be the case.
Too much control. You run background checks, and then gtf out of the way when everything's cool.I, on the other hand don't want a gun ban....just practical regulation. If you're worried about cost....I propose that anyone seeking military spec weapons should have to pay for and maintain an enhanced licence.... and part of the qualifications to even ATTAIN that license would be to submit to psychological testing. If you pass, you get to own any center fire weapon you want....even fully automatic ones.
Straw man. Stop trying to divert from the discussion at hand. And just what is voter ID? The incidences of voter fraud are so miniscule that it barely registers on the legitimacy meter...but here we are....forcing people to get ID's that they either have to pay out of pocket to attain, or spend money for transportation to get one. All because it affects our poorest the hardest....and they tend to vote Dem.
I have every problem with registration because the government doesn't need to know about anything I do that is perfectly legal to do.You see, the difference between you and I is that I have no problem registering my weapons. I have nothing to hide. I don't believe for an instant that the "commies" are coming to get us and we need to stand ready for some kind of armed rebellion. If.....on the million to one chance that were to happen? I'd be a dead man....as would you....and it wouldn't matter if you registered or not.
No, I'm saying you're making a distinction based solely on how they look, not how they function. Though I will give credit where it is due, and you, thus far anyways, have proven to be far more competent on the matter than anyone else on the board.BTW....Lucius.... how they look? Are you trying to tell me that the military uses those types of weapons simply because they look cool? What a crock.
