It may be too soon for humor, but it's never too soon to be an ass. And here's the funny part, only one of these makes people smile. Why do we have to wait to be cheered up but rage is on demand?
Uhm.. I heard Liberals today blaming the Tea Party. By tomorrow, they will be blaming Rush Limbaugh and talk radio.
Don't talk to me about bad taste, Libbie!
All I said is we need bomb control legislation, I mean this should be obvious, right???

Bull, on this site leftists were already blaming it on "rightwingers" because of some past events on Patriot Day.

Please. Who on this site - one poster? I watched cable shows all over the place last night, and listened to all kinds of radio today - and no talk of the "Tea Party."
Dixie was lying, and you know it. Don't be a Dixie apologist.
So, you saw it too, but then dismiss it because it wasn't enough of them to make you think that some people on the left are asses?
You got Wolf Blitzer stressing how Patriots' Day "may be a factor"... You got Charles Pierce of Esquire pointing out that because of tax day, etc. that they shouldn't blame foreign terrorism because Tim McVeigh thought he was watering the tree of liberty.
But hey, when you were watching the news you didn't "see" it so it can't exist.
Well, look, if this happened on Sept 11th 2012, everyone would take note of that and figure, hmmm. Same thing with tax day. I mean, it's an obvious point and I think we all thought of it. Doesn't mean it was that, but to notice it is as obvious as breathing.
My friend's mom is a nurse who worked at the finish line next to the bombing. This is the email he sent out to us.
My mom is a nurse practitioner and this was her 19th year working the finish line of the Boston Marathon. She is in the medical tent and she treats runners when they finish.
She was treating a woman who was already hysterical with cramps all over her body. She gave her an IV and my mom was trying to calm her down when she heard the first blast. She told me she knew it was a bomb right away. Others on TV have said they didn't know what it was but she was clear, it was a bomb. She said it felt like an earthquake and shook the ground.
The woman now was really freaking out and things were about to get crazy. My mom said the guy on the loudspeaker, who also has been working the event over a decade, didn't let his tone change one bit. He did a lot to keep people calm during the chaos.
The next job was to get the runners who could leave out and make room for the trauma patients. The good thing is it was like a virtual hospital right there at the site of the blast with all the emergency personnel.
She treated a guy who had shrapnel all through his legs, half the hair on his head burnt off and his jacket melted. She said the layers of clothing he wore probably saved his arm. Also had some sort of burns on his stomach and she had no idea how he got that through his clothes. As she treated him he was freaking out that he couldn't find his parents. My mom speculated that his mother may have passed because she fit the age of a woman she already knew had passed away.
While he was being treated all sorts of trauma cases were going by and she had to keep him calm and not looking at all the chaos around. It also helped her not to see everything that came by. But she did see many victims with missing limbs and one guy with simply no legs left. Also a woman who had passed was put in the tent near her.
She mentioned that the death toll was very conservative and she expects it to go up.
As patients were taken to area hospitals they started to clear the tent of non emergency volunteers and then the doctors and nurses. 8 of them stayed, including my mother, until everyone was moved out.
I got a quick call into her after the blast and she said she was OK but couldn't talk. We exchanged a couple of texts until tonight when she got to call and brief me on everything.
We used to go to the start of the marathon every year as a kid. We used to love to try and find random sweat pants (no idea why) when runners would shed them as the race started.
So proud of the work my mom does. I know any of the crisis management skills I have come from her.
I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity."
But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.
But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness.
But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.
So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."
Tell him to give her a big hug!
I am stealing this from a friend... whose other friend posted this on fb...

They are also posting a picture of Mr. Rogers and the sentiment is look for the helprs!
This is what I am doing, mourning the loss of life and limb, but I am looking for the brave helpers! Those who served other in the time of need.
Fuck those who did this. They do not deserve publicity. They to deserve to be found and prosecuted for their crimes, but all this speculating and worse turning on one another is just what they want. All the negativity feeds them and we must not do it.
No one at the marathon stopped to think whether you were liberal or conservative yesterday when they stopped to help. Why can't we just be united for a little while longer?
