Obama sure was angry yesterday. Why?

Congress and the NRA.

Congress for not listening to the American people and the NRA paying them to not listen to the American people.
isn't congress part of the government that is supposed to protect the rights of the minority from the majority? that upholding the constitution thing?

I was angery, glad to see President Obama finally show some emotion. Did you see Biden, he looked like he was about to punch someone.

Obama got his way. This issue is dead.

If dancing on the graves of dead children won't get people to give up their god given constitutional rights nothing will. That is why Obama was pissed. He knew this was his best chance ever. He thought he was given a gift in Connecticut. He was slapped down

why would it make you angry to have the constitution upheld? It SHOULD make you angry that 46 elected individuals chose to ignore their oath to the constitution by voting to violate the constitution.

I do not agree that background checks violate the Constitution.

I belive that the inconvience of a background check is worth the benefit it provides.

I belive it would have saved the lives, and on ballance, perserved more rights for at least a few people.

There was nothing unconstitutional about this measure.

Law-abiding gun owners have nothing to fear from things like background checks and registration. They are reasonable measures and do not infringe upon ownership.

Opposition to these measures only pushes organizations like the NRA further into the fringe.

the federal government has no constitutional authority to determine who can and cannot bear arms. therefore, you're wrong.

I belive that the inconvience of a background check is worth the benefit it provides.
and the inconvenience of a no fly list is worth the benefit it provides?????

I belive it would have saved the lives, and on ballance, perserved more rights for at least a few people.
how many people would become victims because they just can't afford the extra cost of a background check? how many lives would be lost?

I bet you also believe that you get your rights from the government, don't you?

You can have all the innate human rights you can shake a stick at, but until your government recognizes them those rights aren't worth a hell of a lot. I mean, women in Saudi Arabia have all the innate human rights as you and me, but that don't mean shit in the real world.

here is where you show your statism. you would still have those rights, the government would just be denying you your rights. THAT is why guns are important, to enable you to defend your rights from a government that would deny you your rights.

The Senate is not in the job of interpreting the constitution. That the SCOTUS. The senate is there to pass bills the people want.

how many people would become victims because they just can't afford the extra cost of a background check? how many lives would be lost?

That's Dixie non-logic, there.

it is the job of EVERY branch of government to understand and uphold the constitution, which is why they take an oath to do so. your statement is pure horseshit.

That's Dixie non-logic, there.
it holds just as much logic as predicting the number of lives saved by gun control
