Acknowldgement that the bill was not a registration bill would have been sufficient.
I never said it was. Do you wish me to acknowledge other claims I've never made? I've never said the moon is made of chocolate.
Acknowldgement that the bill was not a registration bill would have been sufficient.
Don't forget that Obama tries to appease people by sticking them in Gitmo too.
Actually, I don't think that Obama has transported any new prisoners to GITMO since taking office. I could be worng but I doubt it.
and do you ever see me advocating that? I'm critical of that policy as well. the constitution is not designed to restrict the people, it's designed to restrict the government.Geez. I remember arguing that the people in Gitmo should be brought to trial here in the US and rabid righties freaked out. "These terrorists aren't entitled to the American justice system, we can't pollute our courts with this terrorist scum, if we tried them here al-Qaeda would bomb the crap out of the courthouse, blah blah blah." You know as well as I do that conservatives don't want those people tried, they want them exterminated.
you're daft.A statement based on emotion if ever I heard one.
One statement based on emotion vs ALL your statements based on the same?
we can either accept reality that the government breaks the law and uses it against us, or we can ignore reality and argue about the letter of the law.Oh excuse me, I thought the point was finding specific language in Manchin-Toomey about registration, not philosophizing about govt. adherence.
Without registration, how would it be enforced? Like I said, people would either backdate their bills o sale, use other mediums of exchange so it wouldn't be a sale (Trades, for example, aren't sales), or just say fuck it and ignore the law completely.
"ALL my statements, etc." is an emotional opinion.
the founders have shown us how. It's up to you not to handicap us to keep it.It wasn't an argument it was a question. You already said (paraphrasing) that every govt. on earth is poised to screw over its citizens, so how do you propose to get freedom?
Once more. I wasn't arguing along with you and SP, I was simply providing a reference to the language in the bill.
Acknowldgement that the bill was not a registration bill would have been sufficient.
lol... so Bush had them captured and put in Gitmo. Obama simply drone bombs them and anything around them. Then you come on here telling everyone how it is conservatives that wish to exterminate them? Um... ok.
You guys have some nerve complaining about my arguments. I wasn't talking about Obama and drones and whatever other thing you want to blame on liberals. I agreed with STY that those being held in Gitmo should get their day in court. And that when Obama wanted to transfer them to the US for trial, rabid righties freaked out.
So what is it, SF? Keep them in Gitmo forever or give them their day in court? And if it's the second option, how do you propose to implement it?
No, it's a statement of fact. One that can be both quantified and verified. Gun control in general is nothing but an emotional response, as there is no evidence to support it.
And my point was that it would be used, down the road, as the grounds for registration.
you're daft.
"Gun control in general is nothing but an emotional response, as there is no evidence to support it."
Your opinion only, whether you call it coldly logical or emotional.
Why don't you go chastise Lorax? He was the one that brought registration into this to begin with.
