Obama sure was angry yesterday. Why?

I bet you also believe that you get your rights from the government, don't you?

No we are born with them, Governments often take them away, but we are born with free will. Naturally we are free to do anything we chose and can get away with.

it is the job of EVERY branch of government to understand and uphold the constitution, which is why they take an oath to do so. your statement is pure horseshit.

it holds just as much logic as predicting the number of lives saved by gun control

I have to agree that considering the constitutionallity of laws is also the job of Congress and the President.

governments cannot take rights away, they can only deny them. you still have a right that's being denied, you just have to fight violently to retain it. this is why rights are absolute.

Semantics, but Ok, I can see it your way.

My right to swing my arms is denied when your nose is in the way.

INEXCUSABLE!! I sure hope Barack uses an executive order on this thing. I'm sick of the constitution getting in the way of our king, er, president.

Liberals detest violence, Jarod. Where does the bazooka mouth VP come off looking that way?

I enjoy my bazooka mouthed VP. I though it was very funny how he stood behind the president yestderay. The man is a regular Steve Martin.

You wingnuts really don't know 'why' Obama was pissed... really?

I'll put it simply... he was pissed because the right wing propaganda machine spewed lies about the bill...

"the gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill. They claimed that it would create some sort of “big brother” gun registry, even though the bill did the opposite. This legislation, in fact, outlawed any registry. Plain and simple, right there in the text. But that didn’t matter.

But the fact is most of these senators could not offer any good reason why we wouldn’t want to make it harder for criminals and those with severe mental illnesses to buy a gun. There were no coherent arguments as to why we wouldn’t do this. It came down to politics -- the worry that that vocal minority of gun owners would come after them in future elections. They worried that the gun lobby would spend a lot of money and paint them as anti-Second Amendment."

As the President said, this is just Round One.

From trickle-down to aluminum tubes to weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to... you name it, we expect the right wing to lie thru its well oiled and paid for propaganda machine. We expect lies and half truths from your side to induce fear into the lemmings who don't have enough brains to see the truth or reality. 2+2=5 if your masters say so. And they say so so they can make a buck off of your paranoia. Your leaders don't give a fuck about you as long as you fall in line and as long as they can make a buck off of your backs.

buy more guns, buy more guns, buy more guns....ya fucking idiots.

No he wasn't, shill. He was pissed because he wants to be king and the senate's vote is slowing that process down.

You can have all the innate human rights you can shake a stick at, but until your government recognizes them those rights aren't worth a hell of a lot. I mean, women in Saudi Arabia have all the innate human rights as you and me, but that don't mean shit in the real world.

Glad to see the lefties 'thank' this post.....shows there is hope.

All the rights given to citizens in the Constitution don' t mean shit if the president and his brown shirts won't recognize them and remain hell bent on
limiting or eliminating them.......
Some of the pinheads actually believe Bill Maher when he spewed his madness the other night saying "The 2nd Amendment don't mean shit"......

I do not agree that background checks violate the Constitution.

I belive that the inconvience of a background check is worth the benefit it provides.

I belive it would have saved the lives, and on ballance, perserved more rights for at least a few people.

And I don't believe proof of citizenship and ID cards to vote violate the Constitution....

I believe that the inconvenience of providing this is worth the benefit it provides. The integrity of elections must be absolute...

Yes....that seems to be a universal belief of the left and Democrats....they will do anything, if we let them get away with it.....
