Thought provoking post from FB

board libertarians are cleaning up recently. zappas just embarrassed himself badly. He could have taken a shit on the carpet and had more dignity.

Well with all the stupidity left behind by you supposed libertarians, I say it's about time you started cleaning up your nonsense...

So I embarrassed myself you say?

If only I could muster the energy needed to give a shit what you and the others think...oh well.

Found this on FB...just couldn't resist...

A MESSAGE ABOUT BOSTON TO ANYONE WHO THINKS THEIR GUN IS THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE IN A WORLD GONE MAD:

Hey, Second Amendment lunatics. Think about this:

Wow... so you post a message that begins by mocking those who would uphold the Constitution? You think that will lead to a great discussion do you?

The entire city of Boston was under martial law the last few days. You get that, right? MARTIAL LAW.

No, they were not. So not only does your author not respect the Constitution, but he/she is also a liar.

In a cameras-everywhere society, we went from tragedy to identification to capture in less than five days. And to make that happen, the full-force of the government came in, shut down a major metropolitan area, instituted a no-fly zone, flooded the place with troops and technology and locked it down until it completed its mission.

Quite a bit of exaggeration, but this at least was fairly accurate.

Think about that, screaming gun lunatic with more weapons than friends, the next time you think your 100-clip magazine and fourteen guns can protect you from a determined military. Your “Red Dawn” fantasy is laughable.

So your author also likes hyperbole and straw men... wow... thought provoking indeed.

Think about that the next time there’s a school shooting that could have been prevented by a ban or minimized by regulating clip size, but wasn’t because of you or the fearful twit in the Senate that represents you.

More fear mongering nonsense. A ban on clip size would not have stopped Sandy Hook. How many partially used clips did the psycho drop? Yeah, your author is not too keen on facts.

Think about that when some mentally unstable person gets his weaponry from a gun show without the simplest of background checks, and tears apart dozens or hundreds of lives.

Ah yes, the old 'everyone can buy at a gun show with no background check'... more fear mongering.

My views on the issue haven’t changed in the last week. I want sensible gun reform and will continue to fight for it. I stand with 90% of Americans and against the senators who are in the pocket of the NRA.
]

He wants 'sensible' gun reform, but engages in hyperbole and straw men... great way to further your agenda. 90% of Americans were just as misled as this twit as to what constitutes existing law.

You, on the other hand, got a big lesson on just how sad and defenseless you would be if Obama – or ANY President – truly was the dictator you fear.

More nonsense.

You wouldn’t last two days.

Enjoy your weekend, oh impotent paper tigers.

Thanks for linking us up to another fear mongering twit.

Sorry man. In my experience it's the exact opposite. Rural folks tend to be more concerned about conformity and will tolerate level of government interference that would cause city folk to jump up and scream. Sorry, you two have it backwards.

The lack of common sense in the above just screams "I am from Ohio"

Maybe this has really been his experience since he says he has lived in some rural areas but it seems more and more to me that Mott doesn't like rural folks much or at the very least is somewhat biased toward them. Maybe it's because they are less educated (more likely to believe the Bible) and less secular (more likely to be religious) and less likely to vote democratic (more likely to vote republican). That's the gist I have gotten from discussions read through and participate in on here. By the way, I do not agree with any of the three areas above and have found the stereotype to be false except in the case of voting republican. Of course I happen to agree with Winterborn and Soc on this thread, and I do live in the country and can relate to Briar Gates better than some city dude, so I am likely reading with biased eyes myself. ;)

I would agree with Grind that certain urban areas are every bit as protective as the rural areas... but those in the NE (Philly excluded) are not typically in said category.

Mutt doesn't seem to grasp that it is not the rural that are the conformists. They are typically more individualists... more likely than city dwellers to be your hunters/sportsmen.

I also have a more rural tint to my glasses... but I think for the most part, the coastal cities especially are more likely to accept what big gov says.

Well wouldn't you at least agree that they don't generally smell as nice as non-rural people?

you're an idiot. The public was on the side of the government. The government had zero opposition except the 19 year old kid.

Here's the intangible you aren't considering; The shutdown of Boston was viewed by the general public as a good thing, in the name of capturing a criminal and protecting public safety. It was not the action of a regime in order to control the masses.

Riiiiiiight...the public was on the side of the Government...

That would depend on which "non-rural" people you are talking about.

I know you like to argue with me about this WB, but I am telling you right now I smell the best out of anyone here. IF we had scratch and sniff posts I could prove it. I only wish we did. Although...I imagine some of them would be a very unpleasant experience now that I think of it. lol

I am not going to argue that you smell the best. I was thinking more about the homeless people I see in urban areas. I'm guessing they smell worse than most folks I know in rural areas.

But then, arguing with you is always fun, so........

No Darla, I smell better!!!
