8th grader suspended and arrested for wearing an NRA t-shirt??

I think the dad has too much time on his hands.

The student's father, Allen Lardieri, told KOWK that the shirt didn't violate this policy, nor did his son become aggressive when confronted about it.
"I will go to the ends of the earth, I will call people, I will write letters, I will do everything in the legal realm to make sure this does not happen again," Lardieri said.

for supporting his son, who is 100% in the right? I think you just don't like him because it's an NRA shirt.

I'm getting sick and tired of these teabagger asswipes who try to get their 15 seconds of fame by plastering their snot nosed kids with propoganda and sending them to school with it in order to make a statement.

You want to make a statement, schmuck? Grow some fucking balls and do it yourself.

He should be teaching his son that life's unfair and the rules are sometimes petty, so suck it up and wear the shirt on weekends.

My kids' school system had various clothing restrictions through the years. One I remember was those wife beater t-shirts the football players started to wear. The principal said "no can do". A few parents (one in particular a coach's wife) threw a hissy fit. Another one was the length of mini skirts. They had to be long enough so that when the girl sat down or bent over, you couldn't see all the way to Munchkin land.

What kind of idiot sues over a school's clothing requirement or restriction? What kind of lesson's being taught, that if you don't like a requirement take it to court?

Only in America.

Wait. Are we supposed to believe this six foot something punk is in the 8th grade? How many grades has he flunked out?

Are we supposed to believe he didn't know what the fucking t-shirt meant when the house looks like a fucking arsenal and daddy looks like a Rambo wanna be?

Puhleeze.

here's hypocrisy in action. 1) if there is no policy that forbids the wearing of that shirt, then the kid was suspended wrongly. 2) you statists have long preached to take up the wrongs done to you in court, yet now you whine and bitch that the father is teaching his son just that very thing. would you rather have him shoot the principal?

You know how conservatives are always criticizing schools for spreading liberal propaganda, yet when one sets a requirement they don't like it's a freak out. "My rights, my rights." Sheesh, get a grip.

well this is a bullshit assumption. I've seen 6' kids in 8th grade before that hadn't flunked out, so you're just talking shit here.

haters gonna hate.

He should do what I did with my kids. I told them the school is always right. Then if they persisted, I investigated the complaint and repeated that the school is always right.

What happens if this kid gets a job and decides he's entitled to wear whatever he wants despite the corporate clothing policy? Is he going to take Bank of America to court because they told him to wear a suit?

Oh, Sty... one of my sons went to an NRA gun training camp and got an NRA t-shirt, which he wore to middle school with no repercussions. But if the school had told him he wasn't allowed to wear it anymore, he would have complied.

that's a stupid and ignorant position to take. all you are doing is teaching your kid to be a slave. that even if the kid is right, he should shut up and go along to get along. terrible parenting decision on your part.

again, this is a stupid and ignorant position that is a false equivalency.

I'm sick of liberal parents who do the same thing...

They're productive members of society who go to school and work, and pay taxes. They don't smoke, drink, do drugs or hang out with the wrong crowd. I've had no complaints from teachers or other parents.

Who put you in charge of what's a false equivalency? Your comment doesn't even make sense.

Two things. a. There is no such thing as the First Amendment in school. You do and say what you are told., and b. Schools are for learning, not pushing the parent's agendas.

Although I am disturbed by this the reason the principal used was correct:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/...Sends-Student-Home-She-Wore-a-Pro-Gay-T-shirt

An eighth-grade Louisiana student who was sent home from school for wearing a pro-equality shirt is receiving support from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

KTBS reported that De Soto Middle School student Dawn Henderson was ordered to go home after refusing to remove a shirt with the text "Some Kids are Gay. That's OK."

De Soto Middle School Principal Keith Simmons said he sent her home because her shirt was a distraction to other students.

of course you wouldn't get any complaints. they do everything they are told like good little slaves. They can't think for themselves.

a logical person realizes that they can accept BofAs dress code to have a job there, or not. there is no acceptance of a school dress code, the kids have no choice when their parents decide to have them state indoctrinated. that is your false equivalency.
