Real Gun Control...Chicago Suffering One Shooting Every 6.3 Hours

I'm sorry, but you are woefully behind the times. By several years.

It's a shame because gun deaths in Chicago were actually decreasing before 2010.
you are woefully inept at following court cases. the ruling has overturned the ban, but the judge held the ruling until the state legislature can craft a new law, so I was right that it is still illegal to carry in Illinois and you are wrong.

Is there a new law yet?

Yeah, no.

Yeah, killing people based solely on their private affiliations is a great idea. Especially with groups that routinely deal with death as a factor in life anyways.
See, I'd accept this comment if we were talking about peace loving Muslims, but we're not. We're talking about violent killers who want to control everyone around them through intimidation and fear.

And therefore murder and intimidation are the best things to use on them, especially when there is no evidence to prove such an approach would work.

It doesn't matter whether it would work or not. If others learn, then great. If not, that's still great, because we'd be ridding the world of one more selfish asshole. Who in the hell could possibly mourn for the death of a criminal who loves to kill and inflict misery on others?

OK...how do you do that? Violate or suspend posse comitatus and send our troops into the cities rounding up illegal guns? If we were to do that, how do you discern legal guns from illegal without having a registry?....Which I know you oppose because you are so paranoid against your government.

Like I said....it's pay now or later. It could be done without violating any law abiding citizens' rights to have firearms...in fact, it could very well be the path to having your very own .50 cal machine gun if you wanted it.

But you can't have it both ways. You can't "crack down" on illegal weapons in gang possession without knowing who's legal and who's not. Because think about it...not every gang member has a criminal record...what if they stockpiled those illegal weapons in the homes of members or those who are...let's say...sympathetic....to their cause until the search is over? Then, as soon as they move on, the guns come right back.

Unless you're calling for a permanent military presence in our cities....which isn't very American at all.
We need to use the RICO ACT to bust up these street gang, and if you would try to look up the truth like I did here, LeadPlate, you would have found out about the relatively new law passed in Illinois to do just like I suggested, bust up street gangs and dissarm them............................

"CHICAGO (CBS) – Local prosecutors in Illinois now have the power to go after street gangs as criminal organizations, much like the way federal prosecutors often target members of the mob.

Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday signed into law the “Street Gang RICO Act,” which gives state’s attorneys in Illinois similar powers to the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

“Street gang leaders, we’re after you,” Quinn said as he signed the legislation at the Thompson Center on Monday, after a weekend during which at least eight people were killed by gun violence"

How does that help when law enforcement is understaffed, outnumbered and off times outgunned? RICO's a good law to use...but did it really change the dynamic?

Yeah....outgunned.
when it comes to gangs. Street cops don't carry AK's and uzis.
Neither do gangs according to the numbers. And yeah, every car here has an AR-15 in the trunk. Not to mention that police have infinite back-up....

What's YOUR suggestion, slick? You're real good at scoffing at others....what's your solution?
To what? Crime in general? Well there isn't anything that can be done. You'd have to change all of the factors that contribute to the are, and that isn't feasible (or politically viable).

And this is why every anti-gun person comes out if the woodwork after a tragedy like Sandy Hook. Because we ignore the 30k deaths every year that poor people in the "hoods" of our country go through.
Yes we ignore all those deaths, we never prosecute any murderers, there are no trials, no investigations and we barely even bother to kick the body off the side of the road before driving on.

Liberals; because we have to try and understand why the love to kill and inflict misery on others, before any action is taken.

No...criminal gangs like bloods, Crips, MS13...

Ah, well that's still difficult. Gangs offer a community and tribal identity to those who don't have one. You'd have to find a way to make normal society inclusive towards them. A good start would be reforming public schools so they aren't structured in a way to turn out factory bodies. This will in turn, lead to better chances for jobs for graduates, who can then be functioning members of communities at large. You'd also have to make a cultural effort to integrate them.

The cultural effort really is key, gangs are, to the people they are recruiting, legitimate. The important point would be to make them illegitimate, take away their social ties and their appeal to the young kids. Then you can offer those kids a better future and one that offers them more than just poverty or crime.
