Powerful and staunch supporter of gun rights ends lifetime NRA membership

How long does it take a thief to break into a car?

If an UNATTENDED lethal weapon is on MY PROPERTY, and I didn't bring it onto MY PROPERTY, I should know about it and be able to decide IF I am willing to GIVE MY PERMISSION to park there. If I knew there is an UNATTENDED lethal weapon in an UNATTENDED car parked on MY PROPERTY, do I have to have someone guard the car parked on MY PROPERTY with a loaded lethal weapon inside? What if I don't know and I see someone breaking into that car parked on MY PROPERTY and I do the neighborly responsible citizen thing and confront the thief, THEN HE CONFRONTS ME WITH A FUCKING GUN.

Considering that you have no idea how I secure my gun if I carry it in my vehicle, you are assuming much.

Since the vehicle is MY PROPERTY, you have no right to know what is in MY PROPERTY unless it will directly effect you. And if you see a crime in progress, the gun I have safely stored in MY PROPERTY may well save your life. Also, if the thief breaks into MY PROPERTY, an alarm will go off and I will come and see what is going on with MY PROPERTY.

If you are this paranoid, perhaps you should not allow people to bring their vehicles onto your property.

You abdicated this debate with you childish 'tool' post. You can't be THAT ignorant, can you?

What is on MY PROPERTY could very well 'directly effect' me. It could be the very last thing I see on this earth. The laws the NRA pushed don't require a gun in a vehicle be unloaded, inoperative, in a locked safe or any precautions other than not in plain sight.

THAT is fucking irresponsible. It infringes on MY RIGHTS and my safety. If you need to carry a gun because you are a sniveling coward, take it with you or leave it at home.

It's COWARDLY to want to defend ones self?

many states have defined ones vehicle as an extension of their 'castle', so my car on your property is still my car MY property.

do all those cops know you think they are cowards?

How would a firearm in a glove compartment put you, your family, or your employees at risk?

What if it was stolen?

Treu story: this actually happened to the Orlando police chief a couple of years ago. Left her gun in her police cruiser and it was stolen.

The NRA is a cancer on this nation. They are not looking out for the safety of the citizenry, they are looking out for the profits of gun manufacturers, who don't care WHO buys a gun. Murderers, felons, wife beaters and the mentally ill are PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Grow the fuck up, you are naive.

The NRA's job is not to police who buys a gun...they have no authority to do that.......thats the job of the police and the state....

the NRA is there to protect the rights established by the second amendment....

They can buy guns from private sellers. Did you watch the video I posted? Or do you prefer willful ignorance??

The NRA runs a protection racket. They take the heat on issues like Sandy Hook to protect gun manufacturers from public scrutiny, and the NRA receives millions of dollars in return.

The NRA could care less about my protection. The NRA says if you park your car on my property, I have no right to know you have a loaded gun in your glove compartment. THAT would put me, my family and/or my employees at unwilling risk.

They also run a protection racket for politicians, just as long as they go along with EVERY SINGLE piece of legislation the NRA backs.

This was not written by some 'leftist' ...

The N.R.A. Protection Racket
By RICHARD W. PAINTER

The most blatant protection racket is orchestrated by the National Rifle Association, which is ruthless against candidates who are tempted to stray from its view that all gun regulations are pure evil. Debra Maggart, a Republican leader in the Tennessee House of Representatives, was one of its most recent victims. The N.R.A. spent around $100,000 to defeat her in the primary, because she would not support a bill that would have allowed people to keep guns locked in their cars on private property without the property owner’s consent.

Good...thats an idiotic requirement and unnecessary restriction....Protection Racket ?...yeah, protecting your 2nd amendment rights...

The message to Republicans is clear: “We will help you get elected and protect your seat from Democrats. We will spend millions on ads that make your opponent look worse than the average holdup man robbing a liquor store. In return, we expect you to oppose any laws that regulate guns. These include laws requiring handgun registration, meaningful background checks on purchasers, limiting the right to carry concealed weapons, limiting access to semiautomatic weapons or anything else that would diminish the firepower available to anybody who wants it. And if you don’t comply, we will load our weapons and direct everything in our arsenal at you in the next Republican primary.”

Richard W. Painter, a professor of law at the University of Minnesota, was the chief White House ethics lawyer for President George W. Bush from 2005 to 2007.

Just click your heels together 3 times and say "There's no place like home - There's no place like home - There's no place like home".

Parking your 'castle' on MY PROPERTY is a PRIVILEGE, not a right. And I have a right to know if there is a lethal weapon ON MY PROPERTY that could be used against me, my family or my employees.

You have ZERO regards for my rights and my safety, just your own...I will settle this right now...

Don't want to comply?

If a CHL Holder carries a concealed handgun on posted property, they can be charged with criminal trespass by a license holder. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor, and if you are convicted, your license will be revoked.

And THAT is Texas law.

The "childish 'tool' post" was obviously posted as humor. Granted, it was sarcastic humor aimed at your fear of an inanimate object, but it was still just a joke.

The rest of the post is simply hostility and rage. Not my problem. My RIGHT to carry a firearm, as allowed by law, does not require your approval or your knowledge.

So how are you going to know, if you're not notified of the firearm?? :)

You think you have a right to bring a gun onto your employer's premises?

The balls of you guys. I have always thanked god i live in NY, but never moreso than when I read these gun threads. Not on my fucking property you won't.

I have no fear of 'inanimate objects'. I have fired many different weapons from a .45 handgun to rifles and shotguns. I have been trap shooting with friends numerous times and enjoyed the challenge. I don't have a fear of owning a gun.

Your "RIGHT to carry a firearm, as allowed by law", DOES require my approval, if you are going to step foot on MY PROPERTY.

As they say, Robins and Bluejays don't nest together. I am not surprised you would willingly break the law, hell, you right wing scum are defending the rights of murderers, felons and wife beaters to be able to buy their weapons of death in the secure and safe place with armed guards protecting them.
