I laughed at several and liked most of them.

I do question the one about 247 people on the terrorist watch list having legally bought guns.

I hope I can get an answer without unnecessary rancor, but exactly what does someone do that gets them on a terrorist watch list? And is that the same as a conviction of a crime?

I don't know how you get on a terrorist watch list. You'd have to ask the FBI.

A couple of interesting quotes from the article you linked:

"People's names are added to and removed from the watch list every day, and most people never know whether they're on it."

"There is no public information about anyone on the watch list who was allowed to buy a firearm using it in a crime."

I have no problem with convicted felons or the mentally ill being barred from buying a gun. But the terrorist watch list is so vague and there have been so many people who have been put on the list for no reason anyone at the FBI was willing to divulge, I cannot see it as a reason to stop someone from exercising a constitutional right.

Another interesting quote from the article (even though Fox News is not what I consider an unbiased source):

"Every time someone tries to buy a gun in the U.S., the background checks include the terror watch list. When there is a match, the information is shared with the FBI case agent who is leading the terrorism investigation, according to a counterterrorism official who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss the process."

two things

one - the militia at the time was comprised of civilians that kept their weapons at home not in an armoury like reservists and national guards do - some civilians even owned cannons

two - guns (firearms) can kill without bullets (if you do not believe this, load a firearm with a blank and hold the muzzle to your temple and fire it - be sure to do this where the mess will be easy to clean up...like your front lawn in front of a running video/sound recorder - for the coroner/medical examiner and paramedics)

i did not think that the fbi was that intelligent...good counter terrorism

it would be good thing to notify law enforcement when a felon tries but is not sold a firearm as the simple act of trying to purchase a firearm is another felony
