Who will run in 2016?

Maybe the GOP should just not even run a candidate. Hitlery is flawless and can't even be beat. :eyeroll:

no... absolutely... you guys need to run a candidate so Hillary has someone's ass to kick. I'll bet you, right now... even money... Hillary will get our nomination and will beat whoever you put up against her... any number under four figures and I'll cover the bet.

I think the Democratic nomination will be more interesting than the Republican.

There are currently five front runners for the Republican nomination and no....Rand Paul is definately not one of them (That's just libertarian lala land wishful thinking.). Those are, in no particular order. Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Condeleza Rice.

sorry, you are dumb. you were in the same camp that thought guliani was the contender for 2012. Usually most of the big names you hear about up front are already dead in the water because they are already damaged goods.

I think I disagree with you on rand paul. I think it's definitely possible for him to be a front runner, he has a few years to go still, but he can maybe snipe some more libertine issues like the drug war, foreign policy that usually ties republicans up, etc.

Paul Ryan, I agree he's dead.

Chris Christie, maybe. But one thing liberals love is a republican that tugs at their heart strings as long as they aren't running against them. I suspect if he were to enter the ring you guys would immediately turn on him, just like your boytoy mccain who liberals loved until he went against their beloved obama.

Jeb bush . . lol.

Rice . . lmao. A neocon from the bush days.... Give me a fucking break. How much effort did you actually put into this post?

Rubio is another name that I think will be floated a lot, but I don't think he has the gravitas. He just screams token to me. Kind of like alan keyes or something.

Another person I think you haven't mentioned is new mexico governor Susana Martinez. She had an awesome speech at the RNC and even liberals thought she killed it.

i do not bet, but i agree with you, the repugs do not have anyone on the horizon and if she is willing to run would get the nomination and the election

barring the unforeseen that is - christie might get a bariatric operation and shed a lot of weight, then he could give her a race unless he is pushed too far to the right to get the nomination

Chris Christie is a guy I could support if he had a really solid veep. He's gotta quit his other job hosting "Man vs Food" though before I would do so. Its kind of fucked up that we don't learn about the veep until the candidate is nominated. Look at Palin. What a potential for disaster had McCain won, then died. Holy shitballs Batman! Can you imagine if that simpleton really had access to the button?

When McCain picked Palin, she was a relatively unknown but popular governor of Alaska who actually had a reputation as a moderate, standing up to the traditional Republican establishment in Alaska. It wasn't really until she started campaigning, I think, that she really allowed her craziness to be unleashed. I suppose McCain should've done some more vetting.

Exactly, the local media didn't do any deep digging, she was never challenged on local issues and he knew the talking points. She was wycout of her league and had little time to prep for it.

the people that did the vetting on her each thought that someone else had checked up on her political capabilities and positions

oh well

IS SO MUCH SIMPLE PROCESS IN MOTHER LAND. PRESIDENT PUTIN DECIDE WHO IS NEXT PRESIDENT. LAST TIME HE DECIDE HIMSELF ONLY MAN WORTHY OF BEING PRESIDENT.

You're assuming that Hilary will run. She'll be 69 is 2016. She may determine that this is not how she would like to enjoy her senior years.

RAND PAUL A FRONT RUNNER??!! MWahahahahahaha and you call me dumb?! LOL LOL LOL

Rand Paul is a man with 2 or 3 good ideas and a whole shit load of very bad ones. If you saw his lecture at Howard university you'd understand he doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of being a front runner for the GOP nomination. Even Paul Ryan stands a better chance that Rand Paul. You're delusional.

I guess that there is about a 20% chance she will not run, but I am 80% sure its been a lifetime goal of hers and that she is not going to let her age get in the way of trying. She will be younger than Reagan was, so that can shut down any Republican attack on the issue. It will/should be a bigger issue if she runs for re-election at 2020. You can bet if she runs, you will see her in athletic outfits exercising.... especially if Christie is the R's nominee and he is still heavy.

I think Rand Paul is in the same category his father was always in... an "also ran". He appeals to a small enthuastic group, that cant get him elected to national office.

I think martinez would be a good choice. Yeah. I don't know if that choice comes off as tokenish either, but based on the reactions of everyone from the RNC (including the talking heads at msnbc), I think she has wide appeal.

I don't know much about her, but I think the Republicans have to look beyond the obvious choices if they want to beat Clinton.

Now, the other interesting question is, If Clinton does not run.... who do the Democrats have? Does Biden really have much of a chance? Who else is there?

hilary will run mott. she is a power hungry maniac, a politicians politician, a carpetbagger going to new york as a stepping stone, she is like the terminator. she will never give up she will never quit. she will just keep coming and coming and coming until she either gets what she wants or she dies.

Other than the part about her being a maniac and a carpetbagger (who ever heard of a carpetbagger from Chicago who went to NY?) I have to agree with you.

i didn't say he would be, I said I wouldn't shrug him off. There are a lot of issues that the masses support in this country right now that both parties haven't seized on. It's a political issue vacuum. I think we are getting to the point where a libertarian-esque candidate can make some headway. There was also this great article in the atlantic that talks about rand and how the media has manipulated the things he has said. I will get it to you when I am not so lazy.
