"With all of the precincts reporting, Sanford had about 57 percent of the vote in the 1st District to 43 percent for Curtis Bostic, the former county council member. The candidates were vying in the GOP runoff after they finished as the top two vote-getters in a 16-way GOP primary last month".....................Wow, who did he defeat in the Primary?
Republicans lack intelligence, democrats lack courage. I'm not talking about the leaders, I'm talking about the constituents.
A volatile mix of colonized minds.
Democrats best get used to republican victories they don't understand. There are a lot of them heading your way.
It's a total shock to me that the Republican won in a district that was +18% for Romney in 2012. I don't understand how that possibly could have happened.

This is why I was wondering about the Primary, that is where the true contest would have been. But even that wasn't much of a contest. I have less respect for the people in that district than I expected.
Sounds like a veiled threat, the problem the Lib Demos have is that "baggage laden" Mark Sanford might have been the worse candidate to run and he still won big time. I think that your shock is coming, Obama was a nice failed social experiment, butt it is time to move on down the road. Libs cannot govern, butt they are good at talking, so they need to be placed in consulting positions, not straight leadership roles. The People have spoken with their election of such a burdened candidate. Stevie Colbert, who has a huge TV following could not change the inevitable outcome..."Don't be Left out, Be Right on".Who said it was a shock? I'm not the one who said they didn't understand it.
Your 'shock' is coming. :0)

the people in District 1 have no capacity for choosing leaders.
First off this is no shock, this is South Carolina which is a conservative state. Second, how can ANY dem show outrage at this when less than a month ago, Anthony "look at my wiener" Wiener was running second to Quinn in the NYC mayor's race? Dems are no better about choosing the moral high ground with candidates than are republicans.
