Defense Releases Photos, Texts of Trayvon Martin

Data released Thursday by the defense from slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin's cellphone includes texts with a friend about fighting, smoking pot and being forced to move out of his mother's house because of trouble at school, as well as photos of a gun and what looks to be a potted marijuana plant.


A hearing next week will decide if the information can be used at the trial for George Zimmerman, who is charged with fatally shooting the unarmed 17-year-old last year during a confrontation at a gated community in Sanford. Prosecutors want the negative evidence omitted, but Zimmerman's defense attorney said if they try to portray his client as the antagonist and Martin as the victim, he wants to show the jury that Martin has talked about fighting before.


"If they had suggested that Trayvon is nonviolent and that George is the aggressor, I think that makes evidence of the fighting he has been involved with in the past relevant," said Mark O'Mara.


Zimmerman, 29, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, claiming self-defense and his trial starts next month. O'Mara also filed a motion Thursday asking for a delay in the start of the trial so the defense team can talk at length with an expert witness for the prosecution.


The photos released by Zimmerman's defense team also show Martin blowing smoke and extending his middle finger to the camera.


In the text messages, Martin tells a friend that his mother has told him he needs to move in with his father since he was caught skipping school. He also talks with a friend about smoking "weed."


In another section, he describes being in a fight where his opponent got more hits than he did in the first round.

Prosecutors have filed a motion asking Circuit Judge Debra Nelson to prevent the photos, texts and other personal information from being used at the trial. The hearing is set for next Tuesday when the judge also will consider the motion to delay the trial.

Well if Zimmerman really had stalked him and just shot him out of the blue, then you might have a point. But, alas, we know now that there is much more to the story. Why didn't Trayvon go right home from the 7-11 with his Skittles? Why did he attack Zimmerman? If some big guy is "stalking" you and you are some "innocent" "skinny" seventeen year old, do you attack him or do you high tail your ass home and tell your parents? When I was seventeen, I would have done the latter because at the time, I did not have a CCW.

As far as his behavior, it is sad that people think that weed and fighting are now normal behavior. I also notice that the lefties are overlooking their aversion to guns in the instance of Trayvon. You would think that alone would have them turn their backs on him given the Sandy Hook tragedy. Who knows, one day Trayvon could have gotten stoned and killed a bunch of kids. We really don't know. We know he wasn't some innocent kid.

When this first happened, all the media and their left wing allies saw was the last name Zimmerman and a dead black kid. Their bigotry and prejudices leapt into action and the headlines screamed.

They didn't bother to get the facts. That was the narrative. Then all of a sudden we learn that George Zimmerman is actually Jorge Zimmerman and they knew that they had gotten too far over their skis and we get treated to the term "white hispanic".

If this scenario we witnessed with Zimmerman isn't proof that the media has gone off the reservation and now seeks to push narratives rather than honestly reporting the truth, than nothing will. Why didn't Zimmerman stand down when told to by the Police dispatcher? If he would have, there wouldn't be a death, an arrest or a trial.

I never said Martin was a good kid, a bad kid or anything like that. But Zimmerman was wrong for following the kid and ignoring police. If Martin HAD been armed, Zimmerman might not be alive today.

It was the stupid and reckless actions of Zimmerman that caused the boy's death. It was reported to the Police and they were on their way.

Leaving the area the suspicious looking kid was in and walking back to his car.

The police did not tell him anything, a 911 operator asked him if he was following the suspicious individual, he said yes.
The operator then said you don't need to do that.
To which Zimmerman answered ok.
Continued talking for at least 90 seconds in which zimmermans breath returned to normal.

So the audio tape( the original one, not the one the liberals tampered with during the liberal trial by press) shows that Zimmerman behaved in a perfectly acceptable manner given the circumstances.

The Cop video of Zimmerman being first brought into the Police Station shows the Cop looking at the back of Zimmerman's head. The Blow-up photo shows that there was blood and an injury to the back of his head, obviously, otherwise why would the Cop look at it, also later photos of Zimmerman shows head and facial injuries. After the shooting the Cops arrived within a couple minutes, did any witnesses see Zimmerman lay down and start banging his head on the pavement, no they saw Trayvon on top of Zimmerman pounding his head into the cement. Zimmerman was legally armed and there was the Florida "Hold Your Ground Law" in effect whether people like it or not. Also, Zimmerman was the Apartment Complex designated Official Neighborhood Watch guard. Zimmerman only shot one time, not double tap like I would have done, more proof that there was no intent to kill Trayvon, even though the shooting one time did. The only reason that this has taken so long is that the Cops are afraid of riots, like the Rodney King LA Riots. Zimmerman should get off Scott free, though I think that maybe Zimmerman should have pulled his gun out earlier or at least declare that he was armed to Trayvon, if he could, but that does not mean that Zimmerman did anything illegal. No, he did not. According to his own statements he did not start returning to his car until sometime after they told him not to follow.

you are blaming the victim, because the true victim is zimmerman. Only zimmerman had the media outright lie against him, SPLICING HIS AUDIO to make it sound like he said things he didn't actually say. That got a producer FIRED. They lied about what trayvon looked like at the time, plastering photos of him when he was like 12 and 4'9. They lied about zimmerman not being injured, pointing to grainy surveillance camera, but, as we know, his face was bashed in and he was bleeding everywhere.

The victim is zimmerman, and the truth will win out. I can not wait until he is found not guilty.
