Global Women’s Conference Invites A Gang Rape Accused As Speaker?

This is a very strange case where an Indian man, who is suspected of being one of several men who gang raped an Indian teenager back in 1996, is a guest speaker at the 2013 International Women Deliver Conference in Malaysia on women’s empowerment. I haven't a clue whether he is guilty or not but it does seem very odd that with high powered speakers like Chelsea Clinton and Melinda Gates, a simple Google check at least was not run on him beforehand.

That's weird...kind of like something I saw recently.... Apparently some historical society in GB was doing a seminar on the Golden age of Piracy....and as a guest speaker, the invited a guy that was overtaken, captured and ransomed by Somali pirates....the whole group dressed up like pirates for the occasion.

Yeah, dipshit, in this country one is considered innocent until proven guilty. Both Howey and Ms, Clinton know that.

I know you want to take a cheap shot at me because you don't possess the intellectual props to do otherwise. However do you really think if that conference was held in the US, a small matter of innocence or otherwise would stop the usual suspects going apeshit over it? If a teacher or other public official in the US, or the UK for that matter, had such a cloud hanging over them they would be immediately suspended. They certainly wouldn't be one of the keynote speakers at a women's conference in a 5 star hotel. Think about it!!

As for climate change or AGW, I posted something from Nature the other day about the Arctic tundra and that was the last I heard from you on the subject. One of my best friends was a lecturer at Oxford and latterly at Queen's University Belfast in Environmental Sciences. We have many disagreements over AGW but the essential difference is that we never resort to ad homs and calling people shills because he, unlike you, is fiercely intelligent and well read. Something Noel Gallagher of Oasis fame said about his brother Liam that applies very well to you. "He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
