[h=1]First Lady threatens to leave fundraiser after lesbian protester heckles her[/h]

First lady Michelle Obama's speech at a Washington D.C. political fundraiser was interrupted by a lesbian protester on Tuesday night, and she threatened to leave the event if the gay rights activist wasn't forced to leave. But the official White House transcript doesn't indicate anything about the heckler or Mrs Obama's audible reaction.

While the first lady was speaking to approximately 200 Democratic Party loyalists who paid up to $10,000 to attend the event at the upmarket Washington home of a wealthy lesbian couple, the protester interrupted with demands that the president issue an executive order forcing federal contractors to stop discriminating against gay and transgendered job applicants.

Amanda Terkel, a Huffington Post scribe who served as the night's 'pool' reporter, wrote that the '[m]ost notable part of the event was an interruption from a protester about 12 minutes into the 20-minute speech. A pro-LGBT rights individual standing at the front began shouting for an executive order on gay rights.'

'"One of the things I don't do well is this," replied FLOTUS to loud applause,' according to Terkel. 'She left the lectern and moved over to the protester, saying they could "listen to me or you can take the mic, but I'm leaving. You all decide. You have one choice."'

The crowd, the pool report continued, 'started shouting that they wanted FLOTUS to stay.'

Terkel reported that when the protester was escorted out, she shouted about being a 'lesbian looking for federal equality before I die.'

In a later report, she added that 'Heather Cronk, co-director of the pro-LGBT rights group GetEQUAL, ... identified the protester as one of their activists, Ellen Sturtz.'

She has a thick ass but thin skin. Many leftists suffer from this. They are unable to take the same shit they dish out. Had it been Laura Bush, Althea would be offended by her Marie Antoinette attitude.

So, in essence, woman shouts at other woman and is asked to leave by people paying to hear non-shouty woman talk.

Hard hitting exposé there.

I think spouses and children of politicians - even at fund raisers - should be afforded more civility than is becoming common today.
The report I read in the Washingtn Post said, "“She (Michelle) came right down in my face,” Sturtz said. “I was taken aback.”

I happen to agree with this activist on her issue, I just do not agree with the how and where she chose to express it.

NO. What she did is to remind some white radical lesbian, that it was she, that was the invited speaker, at that her insistence at being noticed and recognized, by her "heckling", was not only not going to be tolerated by her, but that if she preferred, she could take the stage, and The First Lady would recuse herself. The organizers were having none of that, and so the heckler was removed, and Mrs. Obama continued with her address. "White privilege" is unacceptable from any quarter...even the LGBT quarter.
Even though you don't like it, or care to acknowledge it......she is the equivalent of the spouse of a King....a "head of state", and The First Lady of the Land. Deal with it.

so it was "white privilege"?

:rofl2:

what an unhappy existence you lead with that monumental chip on your shoulder. Yeah, you guys love when conservatives are heckled. No, this couldn't be about this lesbian wanting to get her issue across, nope. It has to be a black thing right? You are pathetic. And who knew you were homophobic against lesbians. Go figger

She could have at least asked her to calm down and to tell her what she was complaining about and address that, instead of being all high and mighty.

I doubt you would be saying that if the main speaker was Condi Rice!!

So if it were a black lesbian that would been all right?

Of course it was white privilege. What else would you call a white person interrupting the First Lady, in the middle of her speech, at a fundraiser, no less? Some white people believe they can do or say anything, anywhere, at anytime, and there should be no repercussions.
And you're confused....there is no homophobia, on my account. I'm a "well-adjusted" gay man, from a long time ago....and me, finding fault with a woman, who doesn't know her place, or possessing a modicum of civility or common sense, who just happens to be a lesbian, in no way shape , or fashion describes "homophobia". She was just another stupid white person, who got her comeuppance.

I should have been a psychologist, I so love the human mind and how it tries to reconcile competing thoughts.

On one hand the person in question is a racist exercising "white privilege" but you criticizing said person is just calling her stupid and not "homophobic". Cool huh?

So did you have the same thoughts about white folks interrupting Condi Rice? I suspect you didn't. But, then Condi Rice could be subjected to all sorts of racism you conveniently ignored because well, Condi is a "sell out" and "a token black" and undeserving of your respect right puddin pop?

So if it were a black lesbian that would been all right?
Once again, you show your true racist colors. Hell, no....it wouldn't have been alright. Color has nothing to do with it....except
in this instance, a white woman was at fault....and why did she think she could get away with it, "unscathed"? White privilege is the only answer.

Perspective is everything. Nowhere did I say that the woman in question was a racist....but that didn't stop you from twisting my words into a lie, did it? One could exercise "white privilege" or expect undue special treatment, and not be a racist, you dumb fuck.
I listened to the Congressional hearings, starring Ms. Rice, waiting, objectively, for explanations for the Bush administrations actions, and all I heard were lies and mischaracterizations. She was a black Republican, serving in a Republican administration. I hated Bush, when he was Governor of Texas. There was nothing she could do to improve my perception than to tell the truth, which she failed to do, "in spades". ( no pun)

I see it coming, Michelle running as The Hillary's Vice Presidential candidate in 2016. Would you go for that, Howey?

I'd prefer she run on her own after Hillary serves her two terms.

She could have at least asked her to calm down and to tell her what she was complaining about and address that, instead of being all high and mighty.

Like this lady?

Local police escorted Niederer out of the event, handcuffed her and placed her in the back of a police van.

Outside the hall, she said she had a ticket and asked why she was being arrested. She was told by police she had entered a private event and had refused to leave, the Trenton Times reported.

Niederer was later charged with defiant trespass and released. The charge could lead to a fine and a jail term of up to 60 days but jail time rarely results from such offenses, said a police spokesman.
