I said that I felt ashamed to be white yesterday and it seemed to upset people. I don't understand how can anyone not feel that way? Is it crazy to feel that way? I know myself and I know what I would be thinking if I were black. Every time I passed a black person at the park yesterday I felt like they were probably wondering, I wonder if that bitch popped a bottle of champagne yesterday? I mean, that is what I would wonder. Personally I think there should be some damned shame.

Poet, if you really believe that only 60% of whitey is evil, Kudos to you friend. Many of your brothers think all whites are the devil, as obviously many white think all blacks are sub-human as well.

I have no idea of the true percentage of evil racists among whites, but I am honored that you agree some of us are not the devil, especially in light of the sickness of the last few days.

Don't feel ashamed to be white good sister because the world needs people just like you. Instead, be proud that you are among these white people ..

Bravo. Well-said. The truth is I have so many white friends on my Facebook page, echoing my sentiments, my disappointment and my anger...which lets me know that there are good, well-meaning people in the world. But almost to a person, those on the right sided with Zimmerman, and saw Martin as the aggressor, which is so Twilight Zone-y to me as to not make any sense, whatsoever. I can't imagine what Martin was doing that made Zimmerman think he was up to no good, when, in fact, he was on the cellphone to his girlfriend. Usually people don't "break and enter" or "rape", while being "on the phone". Martin had 2 courses of action, when he realized Zimmerman was following him...either "run" or "confront". He did the latter, and it cost him his life. Did Zimmerman even stop to think that he might have been a resident, or did the hoodie Martin was wearing preclude that possibility? Common sense was not the order of the day, perhaps, on both of their parts. What remains is that Zimmerman failed to heed the instructions of the 911 dispatcher, and Martin is dead. And America is divided, perhaps more than it was due to President Obama's election. We have yet to deal with race and racism, and it's 2013.

Anyone not ashamed to white yesterday is a racist whether they admit it or not.

Never again do I want to hear about some piss-ant republican asking why black people won't vote for them.

I'm only going by past track records. Native Americans, Slavery, Haiti, KKK, Jim Crow, Rosewood, lynchings in the South, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Civil Rights Movement, JFK RFK MLK Malcolm X assassinations.
I have way too many white friends and positive experiences with whites to believe that all whites are the devil, when clearly they are not.

He and Poet don't want to see that Zimmerman himself is a minority. It doesn't matter to them that he was acquitted by ALL women. Nope, they want to believe that this country is still 1960. Why? Well, that way any failings of themselves and or the black community can be laid at the feet of "whitey".
