The vast majority of blacks, 93% in 2005, are killed by fellow blacks and nearly half of all murder victims are black, don't you worry about that?

First, let's add a bit of perspective to this conversation.

85 percent of white victims were slain by other white people .. which came from the same study you got your statistics about black people from. Not sure how you missed that.

To your point, I not only worry about it, I do something about it. I've been mentoring at-risk inner-city boys for over 40 years. But cases like this don't make it any easier. Police and the courts have no respect for their lives. I know it, and so do they. If the law has no respect for them, why should they have respect for the law?

I tell the boys I mentor the truth .. this society sees you as a threat and it always will. You have to rise above the racism, false perceptions and roadblocks to be all that you can.

I worry about it, and I do what I can about it.

Well don't worry, I'm not getting banned. I mean, I know Grind is pretty mad at me, but he's not that big of an asshole, or that slimy. It was a very minor infraction, and a first time at that. Maybe now he will ban be for 24 hours just because I posted this. THAT I could actually see him doing, LOL But I will tell you, I could use the damn break!

i'm not mad at ya darla. I'm not mad at anyone.

I can never keep track of when the children are supposed to matter in this society. You guys usually criticize SF for caring too much.

Lol, okay, he does show great affection as an Uncle. I won't ever take that away from him. He seems to be a caring brother nd son as well.

yeah.

Tospin used to be a con back in the day right?

Topspin is a conservative on some issues and libertarian on others. I have had some battles with him that we're ugly, but I can't stay angry with him, he oes have a few good one liners, even directed at me.

There are many people worried about it, it is a lame argument often used by stupid people. It is usually the people who advance the argument that don't care.

People are generally killed by people they are related to or know. Murders by strangers is not as prevelant as people would have us believe.

I'm happy to have my politics confound certain posters.

The minute that any party or group of partisans thinks "he's ours - we can put him back in line to march w/ us"...well, that would be a bad day.

Shtihead (Imean yurt), the only group think going on is with you and the conservatards.

:0) I see the Thing has been relegated to groaning me every chance he gets.

I do hope that makes the baby feel better. :0)

I won't groan you back .. I'll just let the evidence speak for itself. :0)

What "evidence" is that, BAC? Perhaps you'd care to detail it?

Oh, never mind - you have me on IA. You're too much of a coward.

I don't know why you're getting the kind of deference you are getting on this issue, as though TM was a family member and you're allowed to say anything you want as a result.

I mean, I lost my actual brother earlier this year - someone who was actually in my family, who I loved dearly - and you didn't catch me that week calling people racists & making all kinds of vile, unfounded accusations.

Absolutely.

It doesn't really have any place in this conversation, but right-wingers are going to latch onto it anyway.

The truth of what you just said tends to make them run away.
