50 years of progress...

That's stupid and you know it, just because you are not outraged or don't feel its a sign of the moral decay of our nation does not mean you liked it.

She can't dance and I saw a picture of her cheeks hanging out of her shorts compared to plucked chicken, lol.

She was trying to break away from her Disney image, and it worked. Hannah Montana is dead.

The bigger question is why is sex necessary to sell music? Women sexualize themselves, men sexualize other women.

I like music for the words, and the beat, not how many nearly naked people appear in the video.

Your point about Miley Cyrus is true, that's why I said, CONSERVATIVES, not Republicans. The fear of the "moral decay" of our society is particularly a conservative phenomenon. I dislike it as our society is leaps and bounds better than it was historically. Conservatives scream about "going back" to a "golden age" that only really exists in there made up mind.

I know dems that were turned off by Mileys actions.

Yeah - I don't get it. Every new generation of artists has their Mileys, who think that what they're doing is something new and something that's just going to shock us into buying their records.

It's actually the opposite of sexy, if that's what they're going for. But really, the best way to sell records is to write good music.

Seriously....what did she do? I pay little attention to pop culture.

A provocative dance, tongue hanging out, sexually suggestive acts towards large bears, bad dancing, butt cheeks hanging out of her shorts.

I felt bad for her, it was not sexy.

This. I mean I'm all for women prancing around on stage scantily dressed. It doesn't offend me. But there was really nothing positive about her performance.

I think she's on a path of self destruction, not unlike Britney Spears and Lindsay Logan....who, IIRC....started out with Disney too...or Nickelodeon or something like that.

How many times do I have to say that there is a difference between being "turned off" and being "outraged" and being in fear of "moral decay"?

Yes, I was turned off, by the performance, I am not outraged by it.

Awww...are you mad because I made a funny at your expense, trendsetter?

Oh you thought that was funny? Well, I guess for an uneducated ass wiper such as you it might be. I am sure Tekky gave you a pat on your schmekel for it. But it wasn't humorous. I know violating patients privacy the way you did is not funny. You should be fired. You are luck I am a nice guy

We clearly have a LONG way to go, but the election of Barak Obama is more than symbolic or "Sort of Change".

A large percentage of white Americans voted for President Obama, saying that this black man was more qualified for the job than his white opponent. This is a HUGE shift in the mind of a MAJORITY of white Americans since the 1960's. WE still have institutionalized racism and we some overt racism but we don't have the system and belief structure we had in the 1960's.

MUCH love and respect for you good brother .. but even the most casual look at America's prison industrial complex is a slap in the face to your bolded comment.

The racism of that system is far worse than it was in the 60's, and the undeniable truth of that is reflected in the statistics. Blacks are more targeted now by the system than we were the day a cop threw me on the floor of his patrol car and put his boot on my head. I was 14 years old, guilty of walking home from school while black.

Prison labor is slave labor, and prisons have become the new plantation where many of America's top corporation make profitable use of America's new slaves. and, oh looky .. America's new slaves look a lot like the old ones.

With all due respect and appreciation for what has been accomplished, the only demographic in this country that can change the course of an overtly racist and criminal INjustice system are white people. When is that going to happen?

400 years .. still waiting.

Much better, but they were both trying to tap into the "moral outrage" that would propel them to stardom.

Miley Cyrus was already a star thanks to Hannah Montana.

Yes she has a lot of people talking about her but it remains to be seen the effect it will have.

Oh, OK,,, It's just that I haven't really noticed a difference between democratic, and republican supporters negetive comments abour her act. I don't watch the news much anymore so what I get is from people around me, and it pretty much sounds the same.

I think it has been pretty much universally panned by everyone.

She's not talented. At least with someone like Brittney Spears, she can dance. I can actually enjoy watching her dance.
