I fully support republican celebration of Zimmerman .. and I fully support the divide between republicans and African-Americans that it explodes.
Far be it from me to tell republicans who their heroes should be or that they should not support a murderer. In fact, I'm really glad to see it.

If it was just black people you might call it a wash .. even though republicans have long hoped they could cut into democratic dominance of the black vote. Let's just say that fantasy has ended forever. But it isn't just black people who see through the Zimmerman celebration of hate.

Celebration of hate is the best term that could be used for it. But George is the gift that keeps on giving and there's little doubt that the Florida justice is being made nervous by the whole affair. When he comes threatening his wife it will be time to have a good father and son talk to him. There's too much at stake for the political right to let him go off again.

well I agree that the republican party has to change in a lot of ways, though zimmerman doesn't have much to do with that.
if republicans become pro-choice, pro-gay rights, anti-drug war, anti-interventionist, that would allow them to maintain a hands off government philosophy (what they also like to pretend to believe in) while also courting more independents, women, and probably some people of color as well.
baxter is lying as usual. the first vote the jury took was 3 not guilty, 2 manslaughter, 1 2nd degree. This was just a spot vote before going through all the data, once they started looking over the law the 2nd degree got dropped very quickly, then they thought about manslaughter briefly, and then saw that it didn't fit either.
So, you acknowledge, it was on the table.
