Obamacare screws the young & healthy

Could you link me to a site that makes the case for the govt. keeping the SS money? Thanks.

Probably not, that's one of those "Prove the sky is blue" type of things. I thought you were being sarcastic when you said it was "news to you."

What do you think happens if you're single with no dependents and you die at age 60? Do you think Social Security calculates all of your contributions and sends a check to your estate?

Well, they don't. It's theirs.

I doubt the veracity of your source, because it says that "[The IRS] will also be responsible for collecting taxes from employers that do not offer insurance." This implies that all employers will be forced to offer insurance and this is absolutely not the case, therefore I question the veracity of the rest of the content here!

That's a desperate reading into something looking for an implication.

What would you do about them?

Why do you think there aren't those type of catastrophic policies for young healthy people now? We aren't seeing claims that they don't exist.

We're seeing claims that muddy the waters by citing out of pocket expenses for our youth.

There's no out of pocket, if there's no usage.

Actually I posted days or weeks ago that my 28 year old salaried son had just such a policy through his employer. It was nixed due to the new laws. Where he was paying 0 into the plan, but getting credits in $$ for well health regime, that could be used against his deductible, he'll now be paying close to $300 a month, with no offset to his health club membership, which he can no longer afford, due to his health insurance premium. He was for Obama, before he was against. As I smile when I tell him, "Too late and I told you so." He fails to see humor in any of it.

I was explaining about a week ago to the fanatic libs here that these policies dol not meet the minimum requirements of the individual mandate, and that people are losing them. They called me a "lair."

Incorrect. First, I guess you'd have to know what (by law) happens to all monies collected via FICA, that are considered excess.

Health club membership? Are you kidding? That's part of the reason for the Cadillac tax. Healthcare in this country has to get back to being about health.

Why should the taxpayer pay for your son's health club membership?

So, you're comparing paying $0/month, to paying a premium? What is his new deductible? Remember...we're discussing catastrophic policies

Incorrect? As in they do mail your estate a check? Or they don't keep the money?

The gov't spends it. It's in the general fund.

Mandate has nothing to do with 'meeting' anything. Policies must meet minimum MLRs, which cuts back on profits/bonuses/CEO pay, etc.

How on Earth do you conclude the taxpayers were paying for his health care membership?

I read this forum, and witness how some peoples' heads are just hornets' nests and distorted perceptions... makes me understand how Obama got elected.
