If anyone knew the truth about the intel it was Hillary Clinton. She saw the real intel on Iraq for eight years. She knew more about the intel than anyone else in Congress.

This happened in 2011. It proves (again) that Zappy is a liar, since the Democrats in the Senate voted Obamas budget down...but that didn't stop him from claiming 'obstructionist Righties have stonewalled every attempt', did it?

Democrats didn’t support the plan because it has been supplanted by another deficit-reduction plan Obama had later outlined. Republican leaders demanded a vote on Obama’s budget to show that Democrats don’t support any detailed budget blueprint, according to The Hill.

Such votes are taken "just as a means of embarrassing the president and his party," said Patrick Louis Knudsen, a senior fellow with the conservative Heritage Foundation.

"Usually it’s brought up by the opposition party because they generally anticipate that a president’s budget won’t get very much support especially if it has controversial elements to it," he said.

Other experts agree. Said Steve Ellis, of Taxpayers for Common Sense: "That was pure political theater and was done to score rhetorical points."

And Norman Ornstein, a scholar with the conservative American Enterprise Institute, said, "it doesn’t mean a damn thing. It’s only a symbolic gesture."


So again we find if it's presented by Conservatives...it's just more lies.

Randall Paul and Marco Rubio voted to keep the government closed down, that instantly made them second tier candidates in the race for the Republican nomination.

The Republicans are very likely to nominate someone from outside the senate because of this shutdown debacle. Its good news for Chris Christy.
 
I can just imagine that the GOP primary process will be so bloody and divisive with teabaggers attacking any potential candidate who doesn't toe the line for them, that whoever emerges will not only be too far right of center to capture the center of the bell curve, but will be so damaged and battered by the process that he'll be incapable of moving towards the center fast enough.

I know its unlikely, but it makes me wonder if a third party could do better than the Republicans in 16'.
